I dont understand this scheduling. Iran plays again tonight. So in less than 24 hours we play 2 games- how is this fair?

    We play argentina.

Poland had won 3-0 against Cuba and 3-1 against Argentina! So we have a realistic chance against Argentina!

    Press release

Velasco inspires team to another upset victory

A nice moment of fair play uniting Julio Velasco and his former mentee Andrea Anastasi

Iran coach Julio Velasco: "We are very happy with this victory because we beat a strong team. I told the players after the win over Serbia that we were looking for another surprise. Our players were good. We took the chance when we got it. I asked the players to fight for each ball and they did. Our serves and defense made the difference".

Poland coach Andrea Anastasi: "Today was a great victory for Iran. We are not happy because we lost focus in the fourth set. We made mistakes in reception and service. This is the life of the team. Sometimes you lose. We had 16-11 lead in the fourth set and lost focus. It was a disaster. We had the chance to close out the match".

Iran captain Alireza Nadi: "We know Poland is a good team in Europe. We tried our best to play our volleyball. Our coaches gave us a lot of confidence. We look forward to getting the team to the Olympics".

Poland captain - Marcin Mozdzonek concluded: "Iran played well, especially in defense. We lost concentration in the second and fourth sets. We must forget this game and move on".
