    Correct ..!
That's exactly how I remember it..!
First giving ridiculous 5 min. Injury time..!
When that wasnt cutting it, he awarded them a very suspect PK in dying minute. Fat ass..!

    Ps
According to Daie AK had not played any good in TM from this game until his TM coaching era..! Obviously by his determination one can not perform well unless he scores..!
    True striker's mentality ..! I guess..!?

He was a hot prospect back in 2004,2005. Sad to see him declining

^ Well, Rahman used to regularly play in the Serie A in Italy with Messina so Ivankovic really trusted him in the position eventhough he was not always consistent. I recall Ivankovic used Foolad players for defense a lot because they were supposed to be comfortable playing with Mirzapour. Iran's best defensive team was the one which landed gold during the 1990 Asian Games. (It had a young Abedzadeh in the goal.)

As soon as that happened, sites like footballmedia.net were created over night and blood-sucking vampires like Pejman Nozad and Kaveh Mahjoob started promoting their idiotic ideas like "Iran should finish ahead of either Mexico / Portugal and reach the 2nd round".
Vatan-foroush people like these two ruined the atmosphere.
For them, the success of Team Melli was irrelevant, as long as it happened under the guy who DIDN'T fill their pockets.
Instead, they had the time of their life during Ghotbi's era...
            hum..!!really..??
i didnt know Gholabi was in the iranian football picture back in 2006 and branko era.!!..??

            Ps

Rezaie was on the twilight of his career back then and unfortunately had started his Decline early in 2006 and was getting continued starts @ tm based on his earlier reputation...! before that he was rock solid, physical CD, one of the best to ever play that position in TM..!
it was primarily his combined mistake clearance with Mirzakoor that awarded the Mexico their 2-1 lead in WC06 and effectively put an end to that game for us..!!
he went on from there to get dropped to another tokhmy team in Serie A after wc, hardly ever got playing time and got dumped in off season, then went to PP and stunk it up there too and let go after one season and then he knew better to retire..!! overall, i think i also prefer Golmo to him as well..!!
i doubt if we ever had a more intelligent CB in TM than him..! but he wasnt physically as strong and tough as the Godfather Rezaie..!!
in their Prime, they were a pretty solid combo..!!

              Oh yeah!
Back in those days Ghotbi's people were just starting their campaign to attach him to iranian football.

A lot of time, effort and money was invested into this man and his promotional campaign, as you can see below:

Of course, it all paid off big time when Ghotbi landed Team Melli's job for two years with a 400,000 US DOLLARS salary for each of those years in which he gave our football exacty nothing.

Men like Nozad and Mahjoob did have a great two years though....

Don't get me started on Ghotbi.

And, as far those two vatan-foroush are concerned, do read the articles I've posted in my earlier posts.

                  Iranian golden generation

Here is the Iran vs Croatia match. We should have won the match 3-1.
Our last goal was called as offside wrongly and a funny penalty kick was given to Croatia in last moment to keep the friendly game friendly!

Who changed my thread to a post? I wanted to add more videos from different matches about our golden generation not just that match?

Back the day when we were ranked 15th in the world and used to have quality friendlies like Croatia, Germany and Bosnia.

Thanks for sharing. Brought back lots of good memories the least of which was from Airwave (the trance song on the video). Good ol' days in every aspect.

I remember this match too well. Saw it with some Croatian friends.

How can anyone forget Darijo Srna's short shorts!! It looked like the guy was wearing diapers.

I really liked Branko, but will never forgive him for not playing Borhani more, who was in his prime.
