Personally, i beleive that if sheys can keep his mouth shut and have a good attitude, he would be a fantastic addition to tm. Also, i really like pejman montazeri. He is a knowledgable CB who can attack fairly well too.
I haven't been satisfied with either hosseini or aghili's performances recently. Hosseini is slow, and isnt as good at breaking up counter attacks in comparison to pejman or sheys, and aghili is becoming too inconsistent.
Bottom line is i beleive pejman and sheys deserve a chance to join TM. montazeri for his consistency and smart play, and sheys for his potential, but again, only if he can maintain having a good attitude.
Also, i would like to see farshid talebi, mohammad ali ahmadi, and mohammad salsali, captain of zob ahan, be given an opportunity as well.

That's the whole thing GA jaan, at such age it's too hard to change, this guy is and will be a trouble maker no matter what! I guarantee you that this year yet again we will witness new drama being raised and created by him at Perspolis. Not to mention that he also makes such idiotic blunders from time to time as well, like the goal we conceded against Malavan he was partly at fault.

We definitively need to try out and use new CB's, both Hosseini and Aghili are too old, getting weaker and so far we have no real replacement, thats dangerous!
Many are complaining about Karimi or a possible Majidi, but dont realize that our defence is by far a bigger problem and too old.
Agree with Sheys and Montazeri, they deserve a chance as we do not have many options available currently, same with Omranzadeh.

Keano jan,
I give you reason to beleive his attitude wont change given he's already 27 years old. I kind of agree with that statement, but you have to be fair and give the man time to see if he has truly changed or not. Maybe missing half of the 2010/2011 season woke him up![]()
As for the blunders, i see a lot less of them from Sheys than from Aghili. Also, he doesnt play the long ball half as much as Aghili.
The goal we conceeded IMO was just as much Haghighi's fault, it went almost straight to him, but then again he shouldnt have let the ball bounce around and give daghagheleh or whoever scored that much time to put on a decent strike. BUT, that was just about the only bad mistake he made that game. He broke up a few good counter attacks by malavan, he was impressive for his first game back in roughly 8 months.

GA jaan,
Respectfully you're banned for disagreeing with meJK
I guess I am a little too harsh when it comes to Shays, just don't like the guy, can't help it. He is a pure laat and low class individual, plus the age gap between him and the likes of Jalal Hosseini and Aghili is not that big of a gap anyway!

montazeri is an awful defender, when did he suddenly become deserving of a place in TM? his concentration is so bad i think he masturbates 3 times a day. he has no awareness of whats going on around him and easily loses his man. and despite all that, the players mentioned are already as old as the players on TM and they are definitely not better than aghily or hosseini. we need players who are 21-22 as backups so that when aghily and hosseini have to go, these guys will be 24-25 with a little bit of experience under their belt.

KAEBI......not as CB, but RB
Please can we lobby to have him back. He kicked Figo in the face, what more do you want?
راه یکی است و آن راستی است

i certainly want Talebi and sheys given more chances in tryouts..!!
not sure Montazeri ever gonna perform well enough to unseat any of our current CBs..!! tempted to give up on that guy as an option unless we get really desperate..!
I also want Kaebi back..!how did he do last game..??
Soccer-Sluts, Toothpick Thongs, & TM Football Samba Style Baby.!!![]()
BRAZIL 2014 HERE WE COME..!!!

Hosseini one of my favourite defense men but unfortunetely he's getting to be a little slow because of age possibly. We need younger players who can take his place but keep him as a veteran because he has played for TM a long time.

I don't understand why people want Farshid Talebi - especially when we're looking for younger players. Talebi is already 29 (soon to be 30 in three weeks), thus making him no different than Hosseini and Aghili age-wise.
If we're looking at semi-younger players who can be good investments for the 2014 WC/2015 Asian Cup, then Sheys and Salsali are our best bets. Salsali's fantastic performances for Zob Ahan have been overshadowed by the more popular Khalatbari and Hadadifar however, he's a disciplined player and has the qualities of a leader. Placing both Mahini and Salsali in the back line will not only bring younger and skillful players into the national team but the fact that they play with each other at club level can help ease the transition.
As for Sheys, we are all familiar with his story - great defender, poor attitude. If he can set aside his self-destructive tendencies, then he can be a great partner alongside Salsali going into the last round of World Cup Qualifiers. His ability to stay calm under pressure is the type of attitude we need if we make the world cup because whether we like it or not, we'll mostly be on the defending end of the field against the likes of Germany, Uruguay, etc.
Looking long term, Mehrdad Jamaati of Foolad had an impressive season last year and I'm sure he'll play a more instrumental role for his team this year. Being only 21, there are plenty of years in this player and it's under the tutelage of someone like Queiroz that can help Jamaati reach Europe - our first defender there since Rahman Rezaei. Jamaati is part of what I like to call the Next Generation Octet - young players players who can form the foundation of a new Team Melli. This group consists of Haghighi, Aliasgari, Mosalman, Afshin, Ansarifard, Jamaati, Fakhreddini, and Hajsafi.
As for the right-back position, we can try out Mahini there and see if he can adjust according to that position. Another possibility is to give him the left-back position and push Haj-Safi up to left midfield. Two other possibilities for this position are:
1. Hossein Kaebi - Being only 25 with 89 national caps to his name, Kaebi is no stranger to the national team and will help implement youth, experience, and speed as opposed to Heydari who has luckily held onto the position for the past two years. Unfortunately, Kaebi's fallen off the map and it's unlikely he'll be called up unless he captures his old form while playing under for Daei at Rah Ahan.
2. Milad Fakhreddini - Being only 21, Fakhreddini has the potential to be part of the 'next generation' of Team Melli. His performances against Iraq really impressed me and in several sequences, his actions made me draw parallels with Mahdavikia. If Carlos Queiroz is known best for finding young talents and developing them, Fakhreddini is a golden opportunity he shouldn't pass up.
