News from the camp(jan 9); Iran's line up, squad update, audio interview

-Here is Iran's line up for Qatar match:

    Starters:

    Vaezi
    Kaabi-Hossein-Aghili-Vahedi
    Rajabzadeh-Jabbari-M.Zareh-Madanchi
    Karimi-Khalili

    *Karimi and Madanchi may switch.

    Reserves: Samereh,Shojaei,E.Sadeghi,A.Mohammadi,Asadi

-It will be decided tonight if we play 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1. If we switch, this will be the case:

    Vaezi
    Kaabi-Hosseini-Aghili-Vahedi
    Rajabzadeh-Jabbari-Zareh-Karimi-Madanchi
    Khalili

-It was too late for Mobali, Bengar, Nosrati, and Hajsafi to join the camp in Qatar. Coaches decided that they would be too tired for the match if they arrive the night before, and there was no ergency as this is just a friendly. So, they all are redirected to join the camp in Kish along with Roudbarin, Heidari, K.Rahmati, and Kazemian.

-Audio interview with the coach available @ www.persianfootball.tv

    Merci Mansoor jan.

I'm curious how Karimi will do as a striker. I think the last time I saw him in the role was vs. Ireland in Dublin if I'm not mistaking, and he did very well in that game I thought.

All in all, not a bad line-up for a second string team. I also like the fact that we finally have three left footers on the left. And even if Karimi switches with Khalili, he is just as effective with his left as he is with his right.

With this line-up we should have pretty balanced flanks.
Throughout history, it has been the inaction of those who could have acted the indifference of those who should have known better the silence of the voice of justice when it mattered most that has made it possible for evil to triumph.

He who joyfully marches in rank and file has already earned my contempt. He has been given a large brain by mistake, since for him the spinal cord would suffice.

    Cheers Mansoor,

It still annoys me how our left-back problem is such a mess, I mean Vahedi for lb? You would never put C. Ronaldo at RB....I still go for S. Zareh to be our leftback.

Good lineup... the only thing I would change: I would set Sheys instead of Rajabzadeh... I know, Sheys doesn't play RM, but I think he would be great on this position...

This is great news, i hope they stick to their plan of playing Karimi upfront as a striker. He is lethal in that position not because of shooting but because his passing/dribbling skills make him an ideal setup man. Its been years since he has played that position now we can see if he excels and preforms well or if i end up putting my foot in my mouth.

Lets go TM. Suddenly it seems like TM has a glimmer of purpose and direction lets see how long it lasts, we have regressed so far since WC06 that anything that resembles some form of plan is an achievement in itself.
