Ronny Kockel is the first german player in IPL. He is a Goalkeeper and has signed a 6 months contract with FC Peykan Tehran.
He is 31 years old and has previously played for Stuttgarter Kickers, Arminia Bielefeld and Eintracht Trier.

Kockel :"Tehran is a modern city, just different than European cities"

He is gonna enjoy the Persian girls around him![]()
He is Amateur you can say,but still happy to see europeans in Iran
Dome interessting things Kockel says:
-Peykan went to their highest limit to pay me(get me)
-In his contract is written that he is not allowed to say 1 negativ word about his team or coach or anything
-When he got the offer he didnt even think about it till Rainer Zobel told him Iran is OK and he should try it
-He likes Iran
-His GF is Handball player in German Bundesliga and Paykan offered her to play for Paykan's woman handball team

This is stupid. As I have said before, foreign goalkeepers should be banned from playing in the IPL. We already have enough problems with our own keepers.

Saba Battery had one a while ago right?
I don't know about this guy though. It could be something good. We need more international influences in our football anyhow.
We thank and support Mr.Kamran Delan for many years of dedication and service to Iranian Football Community.

It's good news, he's not a top class keeper but he's experieneced.
If he can bring any of his previous knowledge of the game to Iranian players then hes an asset to our league.
He's also advertising the Iranian league and Iran on the whole.
Please join and support Iran Rugby on Facebook.
He is still waiting for his papers, this month he will make his first game

All of our former great goalkeepers say the same. If we really want to improve them we need top class foreign coaches, not players. We have so many young goalies with the right physical attributes and potential to become great goalies, but none of them get to play because they are replaced by 3rd rate foreign goalies who make more money than they ever will for no reason.
