Can Oman pull off an upset against Australia?

They are playing tom. Remember if it wasn't for last minute goal by Nosrati we would have lost our first game in China. They went up 2 nil against us..

I also believe that it would be very hard to repeat their magic against the confident Aussies.

What do you think?

Oman like Bahrain is a team which was formed as a youth team and grew up as a team. But now they started their downhill trip.
Bahrain is already going downhill, Oman on the other hand is on its peak but they lost their coach Macala. I don't think they will do anything against Australia. They might qualify second after Australia just because Iraq is weak.

if they have a good coach they can escape with a draw.if not their gonna lose at least to 2 goals.

well oman had its best match ever against us, but i hope they get some points from australia

although they probably won't. oman needs to have a good game and australia a bad game and then yes oman can win. it's possible but unlikely.
however.
In my opinion australia is overrated. They are a good team, but because they played well in wc everyone hyped them up.
If you guys watch their game against singapore they are very beatable. Iran can rip them a new one. But again. Australia on a good day can beat anyone but so can Iran.
australia will win their group and the second spot is up for grabs. iraq oman and thailand can all get second place. although thailand is the least likely to get out of the group.

The upset will only happen if Australia sucuumbs to the pressure of their first real important match since joing the AFC. This is a trap game for Australia because they have to deal with the pressure of their first big asian game and they are facing a tricky Oman team capable of making an upset. Oman does not seem very strong but that could lead to Australia's downfall in about 12 hours because if they underestimate Oman, they could lose this match.
