    YEA i've seen this, we actually had a good team....they had alot of good chances BUT NEVER CONVERTED. Same reason we lost to Peru or Chile whatever it was. That seems to be the curse of persian football, we cant finish :/

    At that time Peru was a semi big with Kubilas (I might be wrong in spelling). We had a good team, but that was our first big international test, we needed some more high level match experience. If I remember well, we did a good result against Argentina and played well against France right before 78 world cup.

    Am I the only one to notice the spooky resemblance betweeen the penalty our defender gave away in that clip and the one Golmohammadi conceded against Portugal??!

    Iran "did" play friendlies both with Argentina and France before WC78....
