KUALA LUMPURlace> 8th May 2006: The Farsi and Korean language versions of AFC's official website www.the-afc.com were launched here today, continuing the official portal's objective to reach more Asian football fans on the 2nd anniversary of the launch of the website.


The addition of Farsi and Korean, which between them cover nearly 200 million speakers, takes the number of languages in which www.the-afc.com comes out to nine.>>


"With the addition of Farsi and Korean, I am pleased that www.the-afc.com has become a reliable and definitive voice of Asian football news across the globe," said AFC President Mohamed Bin Hammam after the launch.


"Farsi-and Korean-speaking fans are among the most active in our huge fan base, and the new language versions will give these fans easy access to AFC and Asian football news. The inclusion of Farsi and Korean also indicates the growing popularity of www.the-afc.com."


Farsi is spoken by more than 110 million people around the world while Korean is the language of nearly 80 million Koreans.

WWW.THE-AFC.COM was launched in English on May 8, 2004, which was also the 50th Anniversary of AFC. Within the short span of a year, it grew to seven languages ?
