    That's brutal schedule for Mehdi

he plays the entire 90 minutes,

    Saturday March 4th @ Bayern
    Thursday March 9th @ Rapid
    Sunday March 12th Kaiser
    Wedensday March 15 Rapid
    Saturday March 18 @Wolfsburg

In the game against Rapid they played almost 1/3 of the game with
10 men, this does take a toll on the player.
I hope he gets a good rest before WC, and very glad he did not come
    for Costa Rica game.
To all those who were murdered, beaten, abused, raped
for simply asking "where is my vote?"
We say, Iranian people will never forget you! And we will not let the
    World to forget you.
    No to dictatorship!

last time he played in the CL he was amazing here are some reminders for those who cant remember.

    13 SEPTEMBER 2000

    HAMBURG 4-4 JUVENTUS
    Yeboah 17 Tudor 6
    Mahdavikia 65 Inzaghi 36, 52,
    Butt 72 (Pen) 88 (Pen)
    Kovac 82

Tudor headed in Juve's first when the Germans made a slack clearance from a
corner. The Juve defence ball watched as old man Yeboah headed in Cardoso's
free kick. Inzaghi got Juve back in front from a, shock horror, Zidane assist!
Ferrara stuck a ball over the top for Inzaghi, he controlled the ball on his chest,
took another touch before blasting past Butt, brilliant strike. Ketelaer whipped in
a cross, Van der Sar punched it straight to Tudor, he screwed up and Mahdavikia
scrambled the ball over the line. Ferrara then fouled Mahdavikia in the box and
Butt beat fellow 'keeper Van der Sar with ease. More tragic defended from a set
piece gave Hamburg the lead, Kovac directing Mahdavikia's cross past Van der
Sar but Barbarez threw away the points by fouling Inzaghi in the box, yes it was
a foul, and he converted to complete his hat-trick. Juve concede four goals for the
second consecutive match in European competition.

Assists : Cardoso, Zidane, Ferrara, Mahdavikia (x2), Inzaghi
    Attendance : 48,500

    19 SEPTEMBER 2000

    DEPORTIVO 2-1 HAMBURG
    Pandiani 44 Barbarez 53
    Scaloni 90

Butt spilled what should have been a routine catch from Fran's free kick and
Pandiani turned in the loose ball. Naybet tried to shepard a ball out for a
goal-kick, Mahdavikia nipped in and lofted a cross into the box for Barbarez
to head in the equaliser. Donato back heeled Mauro Silva's pass to Scaloni
who blasted a low shot past Butt.

    Assists : Mahdavikia, Donato
    Attendance :

    JUVENTUS 1-3 HAMBURG
    Kovacevic 56 Prager 24
    Yeboah 48
    Panadic 62

Ferrara should have headed Juve into the lead. Hamburg were lucky not to
conceded a penalty when Hoogma actually fouled Inzaghi in the box. Van Der
Sar tipped Tofting's powerful shot onto the post, Babarez blew an open goal.
Tofting stung Van der Sar's palms again with another wrist snapping strike
but this time Hamburg put away the rebound, Prager heading high into the
net. Zidane was sent off for head butting Kientz in retaliation for a love tap
on the backside. UEFA were very lenient with Zidane following his last
suspension for an equally shameful piece of thuggery this time he should be
hit hard. Davids was given a second yellow for hacking Tofting. Yeboah lost
his balance when through on goal, Iuliano made a mess of the clearance,
Yeboah sent him on his arse with a deft dummy and tapped into an empty net,
great goal! Kovacevic got a slight touch on Del Piero's free kick. Van der
Sar punched out Mahdavikia's cross, for some reason Paramatti put the ball
back into the box and Panadic headed into the net.

Hamburg are at home to Deportivo who have already qualified. Juve face a
nightmare away trip to Panathinai*** who are also in with a chance of getting
    second place.

    Assist : Del Piero
Red Cards : Zidane 28 (Juventus), Davids 33 (Juventus)

    HAMBURG 1-1 DEPORTIVO
    Mahdavikia 10 Makaay 58

Mahdavikia scored via a wicked deflection. Hamburg were punished for failing
to take several chances in the first half when Makaay tapped in after Butt
    twice saved from Cesar Sampaio.

    3 Assists and 2 Goals

thats probably the biggest concern...knock on wood...but the chance of him or any other player that plays the 90 minute getting injured is very high

If there's one player who can handle that, it's mahdavikia.
Don't worry about it, he'll get the rest needed before the beginning of the WC.
Even if he doesn't, the man is made of steel. He'll be fine!

    Mashallah beh Mehdi!
Persian Pride running through my veins!

    Esteghlal for life!!
