I believe they will add world cup patch to the existing fifa 23 game after the world cup is complete - due to the fact that the world cup this time is occuring after fifa game release.

Also, yes, we'll get to play as Iran - They add every team that is in the world cup.

Frustrating that EA keeps people on suspense and doesn't give clarity on these things. Patch should be released weeks before the WC, like last time, for people to enjoy.

Iran is listed as "Islamic Republic of Iran" and has the following info on there:

"The Islamic Republic of Iran first featured at a FIFA World Cup in 1978 and has since qualified for the finals on five other occasions. They have two victories in group stage play to their name, most famously defeating the United States 2-1 in 1998 in Lyon. Qualification to Qatar was secured by topping group A of the AFC third round qualifiers."

FIFA 23 is significantly better than FIFA 18. They have a new motion engine (hyper motion) that is trained via AI/ML on actual players in an actual 11v11 game (available on PC and PS5/XBOX X, not sure about PS4). That means that animations of player motions are chosen and rendered in real time, making the game look and FEEL more realistic (on the ball, but especially off the ball). You also get way less of the players repeating the same exact movements or shots. Long story short, it feels more organic, and much less arcade-y than the FIFA of the past.

As a long time PES player, I think FIFA 22 and FIFA 23 are definitely worth a try.

Better gameplay for sure compared to 2022. Movements and touches on the ball are a lot more realistic.

They changed FKs and corners I think they are now a bit easier and more realistic to hit on also.

They stopped doing the standalone games and just put them as a free DLC on the games.
