Sepahan tied Ä°stanbulspor 1-1 in Turkey in a friendly.

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And itā€™s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate peopleā€™s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

PLDC - FIFA has called on the Iranian football federation to make necessary arrangements for the presence of women spectators in the 2022-23 edition of Iran's Professional League.

The request has been made through an official letter a few days ago as the Iranian federation is planning the new season.

According to local sources, FIFAā€™s demand is not legally binding as it has asked for increased interaction between the Iranian federation and international institutions for
preparing the ground for attendance of female spectators.
The letter also acknowledges some of the measures adopted by Iran following the controversial incidents that happened in Mashhad on March 29 ahead of a match between Iran and Lebanon.

Women were not allowed into the stadium in Mashhad. A viral video that showed a security force using pepper spray against women drew wide condemnation in Iran.
Earlier, the Iranian Sports Ministry had announced plans to take necessary steps and actions for the attendance of female spectators but it seems that no effective operational measure has been carried out.

Only 30% of stadiums' capacity can be used for now because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Don't understand why IPL is the only third rate league where players have to apologize when they leave their team for Europe and clubs have to prevent them to become legionnaires (or bring back legionnaires) at all cost instead of developing other local players.

Not sure if these teams in Turkey play with their main squad vs Iranian teams(Eses and Sepahan). You can't find anything on their insta page for these kind of friendly games. Was the case of ese vs Fatih, Pirlo team also.!!!

Heard there will be no spectators for tomorrow's Esteghlal vs. Sepahan game and may be league-wide.

                Official reason: ticketing system
Real reason: not wanting to accommodate women and risking FIFA ban

If they ban us, can you blame them? Well deserved. No other country treats women like this. Well, outside the Taliban and IR.

Just put aside a few bathrooms for the ladies and bring in some lady security. Theyā€™re really overthinking this.

After a few weeks, outside of derbies and national team matches, hardly any females will show up to the games.

                      Dumb backwards barbarians.

In IR, these lady security are even worse than some males! Just look at some of the videos that come out of these women beating on our poor Iranian sisters.

Either way, the entire system is so rotten, where does one start to fix it?

I disagree that they will not show up. They will. Women love football in Iran and it will really enhance our fan culture.

Iā€™m saying use lady security so the fools in charge donā€™t find more excuses.

And I really think the novelty will wear off.

At first you might get tens of thousands of female
Fans a game, but eventually itā€™ll go down to a few thousand a game once it becomes more routine.
