He’s playing well and he’s getting his team mates involved a lot too, he’s used as a CAM at times and is very effective in that position. For sure someone TM needs to keep an eye on

Kind of crazy Vazquez still hasn’t been called up he is a beast too…..hope it stays that way for now
    Team Meli Iran

The league's top scorer is Azmoun's Zenit teammate Driussi with 17 goals.

Watched gareth bale play for LAFC tonight. Subbed in at 75’. couple of nice crosses but basically not a threat without any strong supporting players. They were beaten by bottom table Earthquakes.

TM can certainly beat him and Wales but they have to have a strategy to neutralize Bale. Similar to the strategy CQ used against Messi. Keep 2 defenders between bale and the goal at all times. Messi’s brilliance finally (though barely) overcame this strategy at 93’ minutes, but bale ain’t no Messi.

You’re underrating Bale and overrating our coach and defenders. Even in his busted condition he scored 16 for Tottenham a couple seasons ago. Let’s see how long our star takes to get his 16th in Germany… Or highest level of opposition our CBs played against in QSL… or when our DM finds a club and starts playing some games… those defenders you’re talking about? Don’t even need to talk about the coach or Noorafkan… It takes just a moment for a player like Bale to sink this sloppy TM…

Believe me, I’m under no illusions with Skocic at the helm. I’m still holding out for CQ’s return (as unrealistic as that may be)!

Bale is saving his legs for the World Cup. He will retire right after.

Nice to have a compatriot coach who gives you a chance.

                        Daniel James is American too?

Also, didn't know nationality factors into beating a Chelsea side 3-0?

Compatriot coach is nice, but the talent needs to be there too. Just look at the last two Iranian players in top leagues… Azmoun at this rate will crash into the same brick wall as Jahanbakhsh…

There are a couple members here who complain about Moshiri not taking Iranians to Everton. Which Iranians? Just look at the success rate at Charleroi. Only Rezaei had a solid season that made a CL team even look in his direction. Moshiri was gonna bring Noorafkan to Everton? Our best 18-20 yr olds in Europe in the last 10 years were Azmoun, JB, Sayyad? JB couldn’t make it in the PL, Sardar looks like Mr. Bean in BL, and Sayyad tbd I guess…

James is Welsh - so obviously that's another player we have to watch out for.

Nationality does not factor into it, but you have an American coach who has coached at Leipzig and Salzburg, the club the American import coincidentally have played at before.
What matters is that the head coach wanted them - he didn't take 4 months to phase them in - he believed in them and played them immediately. It's a confidence move.
                              That's what matters.

                              Mendy was also atrocious today.

Azmoun will find his way. He has been nowhere near as bad as some here make him out to be.
JB made the wrong choice, but he had to take that step. People forget he was top scorer in Holland playing as a winger! It was that or Ajax (which may have been the right move), but he was poorly advised.
I understand your overall point though about club form 3 months before the World Cup. No point letting it stress you. World Cups are not necessarily reflective of who the best players in the world are - at least in the group stage.

As for Moshiri, take a look at the transfers this money washer has approved... you're telling me Taremi or Azmoun aren't better than at least several of these guys?

Somebody has to do this. There’s always positives and negatives.

And I’m not just looking at the American or other players. Forget about them. Iran has its own circumstances. Where is our Mahdavikia or Nekounam these days? Professionals who were able hold their own and fight adversity in a top league for years and years. For all the excuses we are making for Azmoun, Hashemian scored 16!!!! goals playing for a lesser team at around the same age.

So what’s going on? The world is improving and we’ve stagnated? Or going backwards?
