Again is it good or bad

    Comment

Mirshad Majedi was elected as the head of the Football Federation and will manage the affairs related to the Football Federation until the assembly and voting.

Mehrdad Seraji was supposed to be the head of the federation, but due to the criticism, the members of the federation's board elected Majidi.

And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

He has football background (youth TM, Esteghlal , East Asia football clubs) , good education (Ph.D. Sport Management) and good experience (Director of youth committee)
He is elected member of IFF board of director and appointed IFF representative to FIFA (twice) as TD.

He will vote tomorrow against Azizi Khadem.

        P.S

He is head of Youth committee monitoring all youth national teams and IFF TD responsible (technically) for football development in Iram.
He is one of important voice in selection of U17-19 23 TM coaches.

The unanimous 8-0 vote shows that Board of Directors thought the issues were serious and Azizi Khadem did not attempt to resolve them. They should hold the new General Assembly in 3 months to elect a new president according to the statute. If they don't, it shows a lack of credibility of their entity. FIFA and AFC are watching this closely.

One would have wished that all this could have been avoided yet I think Azizi Khadem ignored BoD and thought that he could ride the WC qualification and other positive developments plus using quotations from "supreme leader" to stay as president. He probably made other centers of power upset or at least neutral too with his actions/words. Then he tried to use the Ethics Committee to ban Seraji and threaten other BoD members. That one backfired big time. Those miscalculations by themselves show a serious lack of wisdom and managerial skills. This is a first in the history of IFF that the president is removed based on the IFF statute approved by its General Assembly rather than by the government or resignation.

BoD should now meet regularly (management by committee) and do what they said Azizi Khadem was not doing in a prioritized fashion. WC preparation, resolving statute issues with FIFA in a transparent fashion, announcing a date for General Assembly, financial transparency through reporting, contracts with all the coaches and other staff are the highest priority items. I would leave TM staff in tact except for Khorshidi (TM admin manager) who just doesn't have the skills to do the WC preparation planning.

These are turbulent times and my hope is that our TM's preparation is not negatively affected. To the best of my knowledge, other than a meeting with four participants that decided to have more frequent meetings nothing has been done so far.

          Go TM!

On paper, Mirshad Majedi is better. He has expertise in quite a few areas, as St. Mark mentioned.

According to Varzesh3 (https://www.varzesh3.com/news/181110...A8%D8%A7%D9%84), it took BoD 5-6 hours to elect Maajedi as the caretaker IFF president (sarparast). No official announcement by IFF yet. The IFF website has nothing on all these developments.

              Go TM!

Definitely better than Seraji who has had a disastrous performance as CEO of Saipa. We shall see. Maajedi's first few actions are key. Osoolee (BoD member and former head of Khorasan Rasavi province football committee) who is now the spokesperson of IFF said that the General Assembly meeting will be held in Ordibehesht (April-May timeframe).

                Go TM!

Even a certified Skocic hater like me has to agree with that. Way too late change managers.

The same one that coached in Eastern Europe, the Middle East and then PGPL. Also under the circumstances he took over...most of us would have been happy with you taking over the team lol. Now that he has earned the coaching responsibilities do you fathom a better candidate in PGPL?
