Moghaddas, an Iranian businessman based in the UAE, first appeared on Iran’s football scene with Ali Kafashian in the early 2000s, when he developed close ties to Kafashian. When Kafashian moved from the National Olympics Committee to the National Football Federation, Moghaddas became an influential figure in Iranian football, and was appointed deputy head of the football board in Shiraz under Hadi Ayatollahi, who had been Kafashian’s deputy at the football federation.

              Face off -Tomorrow:

5 BOD member request this meeting:

              1-Mehrdad Saraji
              2-Shohre Musavi
              3-Bahram Rezaeian
              4-Ehsan Osouli
              5-Mirshad Majedi

              Other Members

              6-Khodadad Afsharian
              7-Tahmures Heidari
              8-Ahmadreza Barati
              9-Hamidreza Mehrali (1st deputy P)- shouldn't vote
              10-Heidar Baharvand (2nd deputy P)-shouldn't vote
              11-Azizi Khadem

Azizi Khadem cannot vote since it's about him (conflict of interest)

Barati is expected to vote with the five
IF both deputies unable to vote, fix is on (as Asal khanom will say) and 6/9 is enough vote to remove him.
If both deputies can vote Azizi khadem will only need one more vote (Afshar expected to support him) .

It's up to Azizi khadem how to go out since even if he stays, he will be a lame duck president and will be replace in 3 months by GA votes

There was a short interview with Heidari on IFF web site yesterday where he said that the "wheel of football should not be stopped" and "members of Board of Directors have a right to ask questions". It was later removed from the web site.

                Go TM!

                  "
                  Tidal waves don't beg forgiveness
                  Crashed and on their way
And the doors are open now
As the bells are ringing out
'Cause the man of the hour
                  Is taking his final bow
                  Goodbye for now
                  "
Kamranifar IFF SG will chair tomorrow meeting and votes. He said more than once in radio interview today he will follow articles of statutes
                  Let's hope he does.

Lifting the ban on Seraji is a very positive development. It went through the appeals committee and was changed to a fine. The whole thing looked really suspicious and there were signs of behind the seen interventions either by or on behalf of Azizi Khadem to get back at Seraji for signing the letter of BoD calling for the meeting to temporarily remove Azizi Khadem. If there is any clear evidence of the Ethics Committee acting in that fashion, it is clear violation of its independence and it could be used by FIFA and AFC to ban IFF. I think the BoD should deal with the issue of Ethics Committee independence in their meeting tomorrow.

                      .

It was sort of scare tactic. EC knew he will appeal and win but they expected appeal process to take a week meanwhile scare others.
                      What BOD5 did in response:
*- Obtained withdraw letter from plaintiff Paykan.
*- Hand delivery to IFF office, Certified copy delivery to AC office.in addition to leak the delivery letter to the media.
                      * Send a letter to AFC
                      In football that's losing 1:3

I have been reading some of the legal opinions by university law professors and judges in Iran's media on this matter and I tell you, I am impressed. They are professional and avoid personal attacks. One of the points raised by them is that IFF Board of Directors action to use its authority and hold the IFF president responsible based on the IFF statute is unprecedented. One of the opinions I read said that if the previous BoDs under Kafashian (who had his brother in law responsible for financial matters) and Taj (the man who put the IFF building as collateral to pay Wilmots) had acted similarly, we would not have the mess that we have today. Let's see what happens tomorrow.

We have a lot of great talent in Iran. Look at what Iranians are doing in Western countries.

Unfortunately, this corrupt, anti-Iranian regime and international sanctions means non-optimal outcomes (to put it mildly!)

Yes some of them are good and I am impress with Rafiei in particular, very sharp, inteligent, well inform(legally),t good debator unfortunately deceptive.

He was hired by Azizi Khadem as legal consultant and liason to deal excusively with FIFA to resolve deadlock with Parliment.
That was assignment of Turabi BOD member and very goo d lawyer. It is debatable if this reassignment to ouside lawyer is in violation of statue.

Rafiei was able to find very unusual solution, creative but wicked to use one single case (* Baharvand versus ٍinspector general regarding retirement and used that to go around need for parliament confirmation. He argumeed since country inspector general ( Divan Edalat Edari)in case regarding Baharvand retirement has define IFF as nonpublic non-government entity there is no need affirmation from Parliament. And IFF is non-government nonpublic entity since that verdict/

Legally speaking its very smart, he was able to even convince FIFA's legal department. They congratulated the works, but they still asked if Parliman will have no challenge to new enterpetation.

So, he was forced to reveal communication with FIFA, said its done deal and all IFF need is no objection from Parliament.
Using Subprime court of justice to confront parliament is smart but there are (only few) equally smart lawyers in parliament to counter that.
in the end IFF reverse their position after impeachment letter but still has kept communication secret illegally
                              Until tomorrow

Rafiei is like Bugatti La vulture short of one tire.

                                - IFF had a general assembly about a year ago that elected Azizi Khadem as IFF president and approved its new statute (assassnaameh).
                                - There have been positive developments all year in terms of TM's come back in AFC second round and quick WC qualification plus reviving Women's TMs (made it to AFC Women's Asian Cup for the first time), futsal and beach football.
                                - IFF submitted the statute for approval by the parliament. For a while, Khadem, his team of attorneys and his supporters kept pushing for parliament approval as a FIFA requirement and warned of a FIFA ban if didn't happen. Then a few weeks ago they had a congratulatory note from FIFA that could be interpreted that the parliament approval of statue is no longer an issue. Now there are reports that IFF officials have not been fully transparent regarding their communications with FIFA and it could still become an issue.

This is what I am worried about and have been reading about here and there. Any one know if this is true and what the story is? Majles has not passed anything and if Khadem and his team are lying then we will be in Pot 0!
