Now will be the test of if he can pick himself up. You go from a performance like this where you miss a large number of high quality opportunities which 100% would have made this into a win, he'll be feeling the pressure of all the Leverkusen fans, the coach who will now be under a lot of scrutiny, his teammates. Big test of mental resilience right here because if he fades away into the bench or fails to show up in the next stretch of games, his career is more or less over in the top leagues.

      View of some fans:

"To break a lance for Sardar Azmoun: Apart from the shots, he was the best offensive player yesterday in my opinion. Great running paths, great overview and outstanding passing game."

"And there have been more outstanding strikers who miss the goal. With Berbatov in his early years and Schick in his first year, that was true of even the two most talented strikers in the club's history."

He keeps doing what he did yesterday and goals will follow very soon.

If he keeps putting himself in those positions, the goals will come. Thatโ€™s the life of a striker. Sometimes you feast, sometimes you famine. But you just have to keep working, and donโ€™t let your mind play games with you.

one thing i have noticed with Azmoun is that he scores difficult goals, as rounding the keeper nice headers, drible goals and one touch almost nhl steering goals,
but those easy shots from the right outside penalty area or penalty box area, he often puts in a good height for the goalie or blast powerful shots right at the goalie instead of curling them with presicion. i noticed it in championsleague and in wc qualifiers. when he is in top top form he puts them away more often though.
id like to se something like this

Arsenals first game of the season, Alan Shearer came out and said with how Jesus played in his first game then the goals will come because of his positioning and the chances he had. Then over the weekend he scores two and sets two up. Azmoun is a quality player, the goals and assists will come.

I knew this would happen. Very stupid of manager to change his position last season (changing front striker to a attacking MD/ sometimes defensive MD). The good thing is that he has realised and he has put sardar back onto his comfortable position. The goal will come and sardar will get his scoring game on.

I did expected this to happen so not very surprised at all . Hopefully in next 2-3 games he can get couple of goals and assists.

The only thing azmoun has lacked so far is finishing, which will come back to him... Strikers also go on steaks and sometimes have bad luck / are adjusting to the tempo and fitness level required for a new league and it impacts finishing when you have less oxygen left in the tank than you were used to in a previous league.

Not sure which one is plaguing azmoun but it's normal Ave and will go away soon.

He's been excellent at every other aspect of the game! - unfortunately a lot of people do not notice much of a player's contributions outside of goals and attractive footwork / beating players in 1v1 situations.

His great off the ball movement, link up play, passing and great positioning (reason he's had many Chances) has unfortunately gone unnoticed by many members here and this is a common issue with football fans who only notice the the more entertaining things a player does like mentioned above.

The best news about Azmoun was that he seemed to have regained his shape and quickness and showed that he can actually be better than Schick in terms of understanding of the game and movement. He had 3 real opportunities to score. The header on the corner kick, and the shot when he opened up a lane between two defenders were both excellent saves by the goalie who had good positioning on the first, and excellent sense of closing down the shot as he came running out of the goal on the second. The cross from Diaby where Azmoun came flying around and over the defender was his best chance but his jump was just not high enough. The header was weak and missed the target. All of the other chances were soft balls where he had to try to generate power and direction on so not really good scoring chances. I think he looked the best he has looked in the last 12 months and his desire to get going was great to see. His aggressive pushing of the injured or faking an injury player was really stupid and may have destroyed the team's defensive concentration and allowed that late goal. When you are playing great and doing well, the stupidest thing to do is to bring the game to a complete stop and see if you can elevate the adrenaline levels in the other team.

Just shows how crappy Russian league is that their stars(Dzyuba and Ozdoyev) join shitty turkish teams.
                            Fuck Russia

Russia is not what I'd call a shit league and this example doesn't prove your point.

Dzyuba is actually a quality player and he's one of the biggest reasons for a lot of Azmoun's goals and he links up with players really well in general.

Maybe he's just playing in Turkey to try something new for a couple years before he retires.

Russian people are not the most valued people at he moment in the west. Their league isn't among the top leagues, but still better most Mickey Mouse leagues in EU.
