    Centre-back: Ryan Tafazolli (Wycombe) - 7.29 rating

Ryan Tafazolli is the first of three Wycombe representatives in the League One team of the season as he returned a better WhoScored.com rating (7.29) than any other centre-back. Often in the right place at the right time, the 30-year-old made the third most clearances per game (5.7) and placed 11th for aerial duels won per game (5.4) to star in the XI.

Their recent good run in the league and playoff spot coincides with Ryan's return ...

"This is a totalitarian system whose presence people feel in their blood and in their flesh on a daily basis. And it’s one that does not grant freedoms of any kind, or accommodate people’s demands in any way. What is increasingly clear is that there is clear demand for change in the regime. What the people want is regime change, and no return to the past. There is a very real possibility of regime change." - Nasrin Sotoudeh

i agree, he’s still a long shot but considering his familiarity with our group opponents & PAg recovery time & game readiness in some doubts & with our RB thin on suitable talent, thus forcing us to likely line Shoja there in order to play a more effective lowBlock/park the bus @ least for the opening match then perhaps he aint such a bad CB depth option ahead of other mostly useless PGL CBs looking to establish themselves in TM still too..!??

Although he lacks the necessary athleticism & his reactions are kondAF, can’t communicate in farsi for shitt?, he has good size/height, decent with ball @ his feet & in distribution from the back & certainly a good aerial threat on set pieces on the other end of the pitch & most importantly most familiar with the British game ..!

Personally think as a defensive depth, bench option he may be a safer punt than say Beita or possibly the other goozooz from pgl !?

For now im far more worried about our dreadful LWB situation heading towards final stretches to WC ..! Based on limited viewing so far, ive seen the best/biggest potential for Salmani to make it as a WB depth ..!?

RawYaan may also face lengthy Visa/sarbazi clearance issues which would further kill off his already very slim chances of WC traveling..!?

Crazy when you think you have the aerial prowess of Azmoun and Taremi and the crossing ability of Ghoddos, Gholizadeh and ARJ. Something is definitely not right at the training ground.

Not to mention Shoja and Kanaani are also excellent headers of the ball!

Set pieces are one of the clearest indicators of a coach’s tactical capabilities. We scored a decent amount of set pieces under CQ, I remember tactical analysis of us by foreign media talked about us being good on set pieces (we used to have more trouble scoring from open play due to our defensive set up). I can’t remember us having scored a set piece under Skocic, we’ve mostly scored on pure willpower and grit from Taremi and Sardar. My concern is that any manager scouting us will notice this and just work to neutralize those two and maybe Jahanbakhsh as well. I don’t think most of the other players are a goal threat, which is bad, and we just heave in set pieces. Like our play in general under Skocic, I see the players a bit aimless on set pieces. They aren’t lined up in any novel or unique way to attempt to outwit the opposing defense. We just stand in a line to stay onsides, then just chip it into the box to an awaiting defender to clear it and lose possession. Often a counter attack.

We will be punished at the World Cup if this doesn’t improve. We need Skocic to think outside the box to find a plan to outwit the opposition. On paper, although I’d say we’re underrated, our players are not playing at the same high levels as English, American, or most of the welsh players. We need a plan, can’t rely on Sardar and Taremi to bail us out 3 games in a row.

                      Yup
We’ve been toothless AF and completely dreadful on possible scoring from set pieces front..!

This is a Huge coaching/tactical deficiency…& Eskoochie has some explaining to do on that ..!
Surprised nobody in our media hasn’t yet questioned his deficiencies on that front & asked to see if they even fking trying to address this massive problem!?

He would be the best offensive CB in TM since Hadi Aghili.

While kanani and shoja are superior to Ryan in most areas, one area Ryan totally destroys them is in the air. They are both weak in the air both offensively and defensively…..kanani from time to time scores weak irooni level headers but you never see him or even Shoja doing anything more worthy in the air for TM period.
