I guess you are right then: this is the best thing that could happen to Sardar. Best of luck to him at the “all mighty” Bayer Leverkusen.

    Good talk!!

i wouldnt put too much stock into that twit by R.Kazan ...!!
all they are doing is trying to fan the flames of this proposed/rumored move and help this transfer through ...... !!
because after all, last time i checked 20% of Free is still FkAll/Zip...!!
they obviously dont give a flying fk about where sardar transfers to, all they care about is 1ST and foremost is that he doesnt end up just playing out his last year of current contract and go for Free elsewhere next year...2ND, that he either Extend contract with Zenit or Transfer to a suitor club that's willing to pay the Highest transfer fee for him (currently only Leverkusen)

the original twitt was evidently only a tease about the new Away color jersey getting unveiled soon, and Rubin cleverly jumped on that cue to fan the Transfer rumor fire of sardar by referencing the blue color of Zenit and tagging them in the twit just to further get us fans wound up bout the possibility..! lol hey it worked
i still think it'll be a while before a concrete agreement is reached and it may well fizzle away still the same way that Lazio and Napoli did..!!! ?

His original post is a reasonable opinion. We already had Iranian players in Luv. I too expected much better for Sardar. Not that I blame him. I am disappointed that super talented Iranian players are second class to any joe blow from Brazil or Argentina.

But what he says is still a bitter truth. I also think Porto is a better team.
.... At the end I am nothing other than ordinary

I think the difference is that this time around reputable sources/reporters are reporting on the progress of the transfer. And imo, the fact that Zenit are in agreement with Torino re Belotti (pending the player's final nod) for 30 mill is the most telling. They are not going to spend 30 mill on a striker if Azmoun is going to remain on their roster this year.

Zenit is growing stronger in a league that is only getting weaker
When Zenit kicked off the hunt for their fourth straight league gold last weekend, they also do it as a soaring favorite. Despite a summer without any major signings and a pre-season disrupted by players who came home late from national team assignments, there is really nothing to argue against Zenit being there again as league winner in May next year. At the same time, it is a clear sign of a league that has only become weaker with each passing year and where both the economy and the football federation stand in the way of something.
When Zenit rounded off the 2020/2021 season, they did so with an all-Russian starting eleven away against already ready to relegate Tambov. It was 5-1, Artem Dzjuba scored four goals and Zenit had won the Russian league for the third year in a row. And apart from a slip in the autumn, it was never even particularly nervous, Zenit had basically been the best from start to finish and in the end they won the series by eight points before the second, Spartak Moscow.
But it was also a season where Zenit had finished last in their Champions League group and really only offered good resistance in the home matches. There was no stronger group either, neither Lazio nor Dortmund went further than the quarter-finals and the third in the group, Club Brügge, went straight out in the round of 16 of the Europa League.
The European Cup game was a failure for Zenit's part but they were in good company of other Russian teams where only one (Krasnodar) managed to advance to games in the European Cups after New Year. It testifies to some extent to where the Russian league stands right now, the quality has been steadily declining for several years but it became clearer than ever in 2020/2021. Not only did the series' superior team not even score more than one point in a rather weak Champions League group, Rostov did not even overtake Maccabi Haifa in the qualifiers for the Europa League and CSKA finished last in their group behind teams like Dinamo Zagreb, Wolfsberger and Feyenoord.
As a Zenith supporter, it's a fragmented feeling to see what happens to the domestic league. Because even if Zenit's results in Europe have only gotten worse with them, they now subscribe in principle to the league title. Something you have never even been near before.
But when Luciano Spalletti's team won two straight league golds in the early 2010s, it was in a league where the resources of Moskvalagen, Anzji and Rubin Kazan were much larger than they are today and the three straight league golds that Zenit won now should actually be seen. in light of the fact that only Spartak Moscow has an opportunity to measure itself financially.
Zenit has continued to be able to bring in expensive players, even though they are now betting on slightly younger names before established stars, while the rest of the league has had to clean up their squads after several years of poor recruitment and owners who are no longer interested in raising new money. This is most clearly seen in teams such as CSKA and Lokomotiv Moscow, where CSKA has in principle only chosen to invest in players under the age of 23 and Lokomotiv during the summer tried to sell large numbers of players with high salaries without any clear plans on who to replace.
In Zenit's case, you will probably also need to sell a player soon, but then it's about the player (Azmoun) being so good that other clubs have become interested than that you have to reduce salary costs.
A weaker league may also to some extent explain Zenit's weak results in Europe in recent years. Because to be brutally honest, there are not many matches anymore where Zenit is not seen as a clear favorite. Empty. when the big teams from Moscow come to St. Petersburg, it is seen as a bigger bang if one of them manages to bring home a point and the betting companies usually have Zenit as a pretty clear favorite even at the away matches in Moscow.
As a supporter, it would be directly arrogant to say that you get tired of watching your team win comfortably every weekend, but the danger of no longer having any qualified opposition in the league is that even the superior team will eventually be comfortable. Zenit has chosen to enter this season with basically the same squad that ended the previous one and even though rules about foreigners make it possible for potential signings, it is also a feeling that Zenit does not recruit because you simply do not need it. You will win the league anyway, and you would probably do it even if you lost 2-3 names without replacing them.
The economy is the biggest reason why the Russian league has lost in quality. Despite the fact that all the top clubs now play in modern arenas, the bad Russian economy has hit club owners all over the country hard who have chosen to protect their private finances rather than push money to their club. Add to that the fact that the recruitment of Russian clubs has been downright deplorable for almost a decade. While teams from other countries more or less finance their budget with player sales, the proportion of deals over € 10m is frighteningly low, and had it not been for the short period where Chinese clubs poured money over the rest of the football world, the situation in Russia would probably have been even worse . Zenith succeeded e.g. get back the transfer money they put on Axel Witsel & Hulk by selling them to China, Spartak got close to 100 million kroner for Fernando and several clubs have at least managed to get rid of high salary costs by sending the players to Qatar or the United Arab Emirates, but otherwise get one looks for quite some time to find player sales worth the name. Leandro Paredes to PSG (approx. 40 million euros) & Aleksandr Golov in to Monaco (about 35 million euros) are really the only two.
The fact that they have not succeeded in reselling players for big money is mostly due to the fact that Russian clubs have usually invested in bringing in more established players who then get stuck in Russia on expensive contracts that no one wants to take over and that players rarely develop when they come to Russia, and no one wants to buy out a 29-year-old who has basically stood still in development for several years and also earns close to a million a week.
The other big reason is the damned foreign rule that still stands in the way of some form of development in Russian football. Proponents still shout that it is the only way to release younger players, while all of us who look at it with sober eyes understand that it does not benefit younger Russian players at all, but only the more established players who can negotiate top salaries at the same time as they barely hold the average Allsvenskan class. Ever since the 2018 World Cup, most have hoped that the rules will be eased as politicians in the country have stopped caring about football, but the Russian Federation is still governed by a bunch of men around 80 who were not even relevant when they were 50 and as long as they sit not much remains to happen in their places. The "compromise" of a maximum of 8 foreign players in the squad but that you can also have all eight on the field at the same time has not given any other effect than that it has become even more difficult for teams to attract good players from outside as you always have to sell before picking in something new.
After a deplorable European Championship, the discussion about this rule has started to bubble up again and hopefully it will end in some form of positive change, but it will hardly happen before next summer.
However, there are some positive things to take before the coming season. (which started last weekend) Teams like Rostov and Rubin Kazan have impressed with both scouting and recruitment in recent seasons and have shown that you can find good players everywhere, instead of paying sky-high salaries to some old Serie A or Bundesliga players. CSKA, which has more or less been forced to change its strategy, has lost quality compared to 5-6 years ago, but it also has a handful of younger players who are on the verge of their big breakthrough.
Krasnodar and Dinamo, who both had worse seasons in terms of their ambitions last year, have shown that they can continue to invest in strengthening the squad and at the top of the table, the rivalry between Zenit and Spartak is as strong as ever, even though it now differs quite a lot in quality both on and off the pitch at the two biggest clubs.
There is a lot of work left to do to get the Russian league back to the level it was at about 10 years ago. Then the top clubs were pumped full of money and took every possible shortcut to the top. Now it will not be as easy, but Krasnodar, Rostov & Rubin have shown that it is possible to build competitive teams without throwing a lot of money at players who are closer to 30 and 20 and hopefully they can serve as a role model for both smaller and larger clubs. New national team captain Valery Karpin may present himself as a little too emotional in interviews, but he is a good much more modern coach than recently fired national team captain Stanislav Tjertjesov and hopefully he can with his influence and status in Russian football press to release the madness that is the current aliens rule. A rule that Karpin has been very critical of for several years.
That and much more is needed for the Russian league not to remain the same single-team race as it has been the last three seasons. And even if no Zenit supporter should ever apologize for the league titles that are now falling in one by one, Zenit would also feel good about having 2 or 3 teams in the title hunt every season. At least if we are to be able to seriously challenge in Europe again.
I really hope Azmoun moves soon 🙏❤️

That dude has already got a pretty lucrative offer from Torino to extend and he is probably just using the Zenit offer (which probably comes with a huge personal paypackage) as means of squeezing more $$ from Torino to stay put or better yet use the link with Zenit to inspire better clubs in western EU to come bidding for his services..!
he is a far more popular/Marketable striker than Sardar could ever be and still relatively young, he aint going to some tokhmy league in a long and cold ass wintery weather of russia..!!?

i think it'll take a min of 20mil for zenit to let go of sardar and Bayer knowing they are the only Club thats left realistically in the running for him now will try gedaa bazi for time being and try to stick to their 14+4 guns .... meanwhile await confirmation of exit of at least 1 of their current strikers and probably wait to see how much finally they get for Bailey before paying bit more than whats been offered to zenit already..!!

anytime you wait for this and that to happen first before signing Sardar then IF this Then ziad mishe and chances of debacle of the transfer increase along with it..!

when Zenit see even a 30mil offer isnt really wooing a formidable, decent replacement for Sardar, next they'll then decide to just offer sardar an exn$$$ion offer that would be too hard to refuse and same shitt we feared from get go happening, materializes..!!

i think he will play most all the next game for zenit and probably scores a goal or 2...!!
now like Inarsenalwetrust said if he is actually benched , then we could perhaps get a bit excited about this transfer going through..!

Disappointing, but he has to act professional until a contract is signed.
