Uzbekistan won 5-0, so this is the current standings:

Imagine if Iran would have not been scored on by Hong Kong or scored one of those chances against Bahrain after 3-0. As happy as I am with the victory against Bahrain, with a slightly better goal difference, they would have been ahead of both UAE and Uzbekistan going into the final games.

Agreed - though Uzbeks only have one more game that qualifies right? Against saudis?

Correct. Unless Yemen would beat Palestine in the final game which would cause some chaos.

We would need Saudi to win that game, a draw would be enough for them but not good enough for Iran if they would draw Iraq.

Anyone know if we can qualify if we lose against Iraq ,or are the chances pretty much gone if we end up with 15 points?

Based on what I see, Iran really just needs to win. A draw will basically be 50/50 at that point and we would need help elsewhere.

I'm a little confused about this. Isn't our goal difference 19?

Due to NK dropping, games against the last team in the group don't count meaning our games against Cambodia don't count when placed in the pot of 2nd place teams.

                      Thank u N Korea.

Wow.. This really messed us up. Our luck that also happened to be the team we scored an insane amount of goals against. Unbelievable.

So theoretically if we even lose the next game it's irrelevant.

If that didn't happen, we would have easily qualified as the 2nd place team. But now a team like Lebanon is being handed a spot next round essentially.

if we lose to Iraq - we need a combination of Uzbeks (who play later in the day) to lose by 2 MORE goals than us when they play Saudis
and some combination of things to drop points including jordan and china (or even UAE/Vietnam)
It is VERY unlikely. Our best bet is a combination of games to go well enough that a draw locks us into next round

Here are at least some good news after today's games:

A Jordan win against Kuwait in the next game would not be in our favour, but it could still go our way as long as that win would not be bigger than a potential loss to Australia.

Kuwait winning with +3 goals against Jordan could be bad for us though,
