The International Federation and the Asian Football Confederation had decided to postpone the joint Asian qualifiers until next June, due to the "new Corona" (Covid-19) pandemic, noting that the Syrian team has 15 points in the qualifiers, which it has reaped five victories over the Philippines 5 × 2 and the Maldives. 2 × 1, Guam 4 × 0, China 2 × 1, and the Philippines again in the 2 × 1 return match.

In the press conference of Nabil Maaloul, which was published by the official Syrian News Agency "SANA", he said that this list came after he followed the Syrian league matches closely and remotely through television and through social media, in addition to the Statistics and Analysis Company.

Maaloul confirmed that the Kuwaiti Football Association has been approached in order for the Syrian professionals to join there, and the coach hopes that this problem will be solved.

As for professionals outside the Arab region, Maaloul said that he follows all the professional players, and that he addressed Khalil Elias, the player of the San Lorenzo team, and Pablo Sabbagh, the player of the La Palata team, who play in the Argentine League, in order to include them in the national team.

Maaloul also said that Mahmoud Daoud, the German player for Borussia Dortmund, was approached, but he chose to play with the German national team, as he put it.

Regarding the Syrian team's readiness for the camp, Nabil Maaloul said that the team suffers from problems, most notably the absence of some players from Tishreen and Al-Wehda clubs due to their participation in the AFC Cup, and also the delay in some Arab leagues and the interval between them.

In response to a question about not summoning Omar Khribin, a professional in the UAE national team for the national team, Maaloul said that Khribin is a distinguished player, but his problem is disciplinary.

While part of me is happy Esteghlal is being prohibited from going to KSA, I wish our teams were SO dominant that they would be able to go and just wreak havoc by winning with such huge margins that thinking of moving the venues and not letting Iran host is not going to do any good.

Can't we take it on court, CAS, etc..?

Saudi hosting Esteghlal is pure scandal, and very weird qatar doesn't host anything. But frankly, I don't care about ACL. TM is much more important

How is this even possible? In this way we are in a huge disadvantage, not playing our remaining games at home and let a direct concurrent host it instead. Ridiculous antics by AFC! I hope we take this to court.
