I love how Karim Bagheri trains with the team and is directly involved with the players. He is a great addition.

^ this is going to only boost TM. And unfortunately we have some people here with narrow vision and sight. If they deny a person like Karim, they deny the true Iranian football and everything about it.

After the Wilmots fiasco, our hands were tied behind our backs and we had to settle for a coach with potential but no track record. (Reminds me of Potter)

Lets be positive and support what we have for now.
Thank you, beat me to it.

On the flip side, we can point at things like interviews and interactions we have all listened to, watched, and observed that suggest they like him and would make sense that they take him seriously. Also Skocic holds a UEFA A license if I’m not mistaken which is the highest level of education coaching you can get.

In the entire squad of Bahrain there is not a single player good enough to play in Europe. In the Iraqi squad there is one in Russia (Division 2 next year go to premier league) and one in Canada and one in Bulgaria and not sure if they play regularly. Yet these not good enough for Europe players when they are playing against us they don't play football, it is a kind of game full of fouls, cheats, grass rolling, crying, screaming, ref, fifa, afc bribery, and they cause a lot of problem for us. This is unfortunately the reality of our geographical misfortune. We need to find a strategy that successfully deals with that.

                  Thats easy to remedy.

Score a goal in the first 15 minutes. Thou shalt not see a single Bahraini on the floor, the Bahraini ball boys will operate at 300x speed, the Bahrainis will complain we are wasting time when Hajsafi ties his shoes etc.

well we are definitely better but they play a level up against us. they have talent though

We've all seen what Bashar Rasan can do, Tariq is solid too altho he is rotational for them sometimes. Mohanad Ali is a very talented striker and only 20 years old. Ali Adnan is their left back and one of the better players in MLS. it may not be much compared to us but there is talent there

One thing about Iraqi team is that they are very young too. we have old geezers like hajsafi, amiri, and in last game ebrahimi in midfield. most of their players are 20-27 years old. yes that could mean inexperience but it also means more aggressive and hungry to prove themselves players.

we also have to consider most of our talent currently is at forward and strikers. well we can only play 3 of those guys at the same time, we have weaknesses at fullback and midfield. we are not a very balanced squad at the moment. hopefully Ezza helps midfield..

Iran remain unchanged in FIFA ranking

The ‘Persian Leopards’ are 31st in the world and second in Asia behind Japan.

With only one match played since the last edition was published – a Ukraine-Bahrain friendly that ended all square (1-1) – the Top 50 remains unchanged, with Belgium leading the way from France and Brazil.

Bahrain's one-place gain (98, +1) is the only movement among the 210 national teams that make up the ranking. Ukraine remain 24th but, having dropped points, nearest pursuers Serbia have closed the gap on them.

However, while things are presently calm in the standings, that is all expected to change in the coming weeks, when a host of international competitions take place around the globe.

Among them are FIFA World Cup qualifiers in Asia, as well as qualifiers for the FIFA Arab Cup 2021™ involving teams from Africa and Asia in mid-June, FIFA.com wrote.

The next FIFA Men's World Ranking will be published on 12 August 2021.

On the back of the page there is sentence that reads " This decision was made after careful review of Iran's games and to ensure the 14 goals scored in one game against Cambodia by Iran will not count towards anything that can potentially upset any of the Arab country member teams whose contributions to the AFC executive committee member's personal financial wellness has been outstanding"

It is not that far from the truth. NK was sitting on 4th place with 8 points same points as the second and third when they pulled out. Sri Lanka would have been the fifth placed team even if NK lost all their remaining games. It is not at all even remotely possible for sri lanka to have won their 3 remaining games. so NK would finish 4th and if FIFA wants to be fair and void the results of NK they should void the results against the 4th placed team, not the fifth. But they had careful consideration with bags of $$$$ under the table they decided it should be the fifth since Iran scored 14 goals against the fifth placed team and I am sure if Bahrain had scored 10 goals againt Cambodia and iran say scored 5, then for sure they would void the results of the 4th placed team.
footnote: the 4th and 5th placed teams get nothing at all and therefore no unfairness to these teams
