Chelsea: a team that doesn't mind hearing the referee whistle

Champions record holders for fouls committed.

Chelsea is, among the eight teams still present in the Champions League, the one who has committed the most fouls so far. There were 111 in eight games, corresponding to an average of 14 per game.

Interestingly, FC Porto is the third in the ranking, with 100 fouls committed, an average of 12.5. In the middle of the two is Liverpool, with 103.

On the other hand, FC Porto is the most punished team in the competition, with 124 games played against the law. Chelsea, on the other hand, suffered only 73, that is, much less than the ones they commit (unlike the blues and whites).

In yellow, the two emblems are also the most punished, with FC Porto to see 17 and Chelsea 15. With more, only PSG, with 22, for 91 fouls committed.

Chelsea also stands out in other statistical items of the Champions, as is the case of the goals conceded: only two at the moment, being only surpassed by Manchester City, which only conceded one.

The English are also the second team in the competition with the most penalties in favor: five, for six from Barcelona, which is the leader of this ranking.

In the bottom places, the opponent of FC Porto is in the ranking of shots, with 99 in eight games, an average of 12 per game.

Curiosity: all his goals were scored inside the area, but only two in the head.

      Holy cow
Porto totally lucked out on the draw front then ..!
First landing the most favorable opponent of the bunch in 1/4 final .....!
then getting the vital 2nd & likely deciding game vs them Away (this is especially huge considering with no crowds in the stands, Home-field advantage is largely a moot point but knowing exactly what you need to progress & having the away goal advantage in the 2nd & deciding game is most paramount to chances of advancing ..!
Then to avoid the next most dangerous opponents in the Semi is the cherry on top..!
Football gods are certainly with Porto, the perennial Dark horses of CL...!
In few more weeks time, Our boy will surely be holding the CL Trophy & tournament MVP plaque in his hands smiling from ear to ear on front page of every Europian sports papers...!😁

I appreciate your optimism and stand dadash. I am all with you when it comes to taking a stand for Porto and Mehdi AND its one game at a time.

        April 7th goals:

1- DO NOT concede any away goals
        2- Win the match

We shall talk about April 14th after the match on 4/7.

        Go Mehdi!

Chelsea isn't a terrible draw, but it's not great either. I would've rather had Madrid, Liverpool, or even Dortmund (outside of Haaland, they are average).

Chelsea has been playing some organzied, defensive, and tough football under Tuchel. Porto needs to sitback and let Chelsea attack, Chelsea has trouble scoring when teams sit back (and they have trouble scoring in general, but very hard to score against).

Good. It will give him time to recover for Chelsea.

                  How bad is his injury?

They are already missing couple of key players for the 1st leg.

The team news just said muscle injury (I didn't find any further details). Doesn't sound too bad, but likely being conservative with it given his age and recent knocks in multiple games. Should be back for the 1st leg against Chelsea.

Not club related but this is maybe Turkish best generation if not one of the best ever.
