Amir started and played against Sporting a few days ago (Sept. 10) where he pulled of some fine saves; Maritimo drew the match 1-1 against Sporting which is a pretty nice result. I will be surprised if he leaves this season and I personally hope he doesn't so he can help accommodate Alipour with Madeira and build on his good performances last season for Maritimo.

    ------------------------

Maritimo lost 3-0 against Premier League side Burnley with goals scored by Mc Neil, Cris Wood and Matej Vydra. HOWEVER, Maritimo did NOT have Amir, Zainadine, Moisés Mosquera, Kerkez, Joel and Diego Moreno at his disposal for this match due to last minute bureaucratic problems that forced footballers to return to Madeira.

Also Alipour is expected to arrive early next week to the island.

Abedzadeh is a perfect fit for Maritimo and should stay there. I expect him to be undisputed #1 since he’s much better than Charles.

Not sure, the coach constantly seems to change his mind about the number 1, so if he can earn more there, why not go...

He is yet to solidify himself as the #1 - the coach always rotates between Amir and Charles. The performances Amir had at the end of last season should make him the #1 to start the season but knowing Amir and his consistency issues there’s no guarantee if he has a drop in form the coach won’t hesitate to throw Charles back in there

Would much rather Amir split playing time for a solid Maritimo team, accommodate Alipour and play good football MUCH RATHER than move to gooz o chos tepe in the Turkish League and get dropped after a few matches because some CB failed to do his job

The name is self-explanatory I guess lmfao

But in all seriousness, Amir has a very good thing going on at Maritimo. Playing football in a low-key, no hahsiyeh environment on the beautiful Island of Madeira AND GETTING PAID? They have a pretty good squad too, in general they are very good players at Maritimo like: Zainadine (one of the league's most consistent and best defenders), Nanu (that stand-out player in their match against Benfica who's fast af), and Guitane (highly rated French youngster on loan from Rennes).

Amir really deserves to play for a bigger team. maybe a team like braga or sporting. or even benfica.

Nelo Vingada praises Ali Alipour, reinforcement of Marítimo

Coach is a connoisseur of Iranian football

Nelo Vingada is a connoisseur of Iranian football and, despite not having trained Ali Alipour, praises the future player of Marítimo. “He is a mobile striker, he is not a fixed striker. Both flips to the right and left to the center. He is very good in one to one, fast, creative and a good finisher ”, reveals the experienced Portuguese coach. "It will be important to adapt the player, who comes from a different culture", he warns.

Goalkeeper Amir will be able to help as he has been in Portuguese football for three seasons. The goalkeeper's arrival in Madeira has no set date, and he is awaiting the resolution of a bureaucratic problem.

However, the squad only returns to training on Tuesday, at 5 pm, in Santo António. Coach Lito Vidigal must announce the dismissal of any player after analyzing the preparation games.

Seems their new manager rates him over Charles for this match

I hope Maritimo don’t lose Nanu and Zainidaine, there were rumors that Nanu was going to Braga.
