In Belgium Wilmots is considered as the poorest manager in decades.
The absence of tactics is what he is blamed for the most.
    Shame..

I remember that one, close to the beginning of AC 2015 we won 1-0, goal from Azmoun. Still it was just a friendly and Iraq were able to defeat us too in an in-official friendly right after the AC 2015.

And then the football expert Hassan Roshan has the audacity to make a ridiculous claim saying TM is now paying for CQ's poor coaching and management. Furthermore he claims that CQ did nothing to develop TM and youth football, and now we have to start from scratch doing it all. How ignorant one can be to make such biased statements?

Lets not become like the reactionary arabs and fire a coach because of couple of consecutive losses. The WCQ is not in the toilet...not yet.

The problem is, that we have a Coach who made an horrible line-up, no game plan and was not able to anticipate that Masoud is not mature enough to avoid red cards.
I mean seriously, how on earth can Wilmots ignore players like Alireza Jahanbakhsh, Gholizadeh, Kaveh Rezai for such an crucial game and start 35 years old Masoud who hadn't a good game since 2011 or something (he was never a constantly good player at all)?
Obviosly the future will be very dark with Wilmots in charge.

should we wait until we are guaranteed out of WC to fire him? What coach will want to come to iran then...the one thing we can offer a coach from a professional and CV standpoint is the chance of coaching a solid team in WC and providing an upset. Who will want to coach us if we dont have a meaningful fixture until AC 2023???

It's not reactionary. Wilmots is a horrible coach with a poor track record. If he stays then we are doomed

We should fire Wilmots right now, and bring in Felix Magath. Felix Magath is a hard dog, he will make the team run and run and run and fight...He was the coach of hashemian and Karimi, and with Hashemian he can work and understand the language and more.

To qualify for the next round, we need to win all our 4 matches, whatever happens. probably we can finish so, or at leat one of the best four second places (with 18 points and minimum plus 18,19 or more goals.

                    1) Fire Wilmots.
                    2) Bring in a good coach OR Felix Magath
                    3) Use the 5 months till the next match by making sure the new coach works three weeks or more in the winter break with the team. No holidays for players, make sure they will go to a camp and train and play some friendlies with some clubs, in turkey or whereever they stay...it will be winter break.
                    4) win all 4 remaining matches and hope to qualify with 18 points.

Fun fact: Wilmots already lost 2 competitive games in his first 6 months of being TM manager, while CQ lost 3 grand total games against Asian sides (Lebanon, Uzbekistan & Japan) in 8 years!

It is not just that we have lost the game, but the way we lost it is embarrassing; iraq dominated us badly in the second half. this loss was much more humiliating than the one against Japan.

Didn't he cost Belgium the world cup with a star studded team?

We must try to bring back Carlos Quriouz to Iran. I would garanty that by now we would be first in our group by now. They had to give Carlos Qurioz 3th time chance 3th World Cup under him would make a excellent World Cup 2022 and not to forget we almost WON Portugal and draw Spain and Argentina we almost draw.

I would say Wilmots must leave until it is to late. Please no Iranian we need someone like Carlos Quriouz style and niveaus level

He is absolutely correct. The post CQ team is void of brains and skills. If Wilmots or any coach wants to change things they need to replace half the team. Wilmots needs to understand these player were not picked because they are the best players we have or best players even in their posts, these players were fit for Cq's strategy. TM needs to shed this skin. In conclusion Roshan knows more football than you and you are even more audacious for questioning his knowledge and expertise.

I still havent made up my mind on Wilmots, just like other coaches since I need a whole bunch of games to assess their impact/abilities. (although Im not impressed with what Ive seen so far).

But my question is how can our defenders & mids (pretty much 95% unchanged from CQ's) who used to be in control of our half and played an assertive & secure game when under attack ... now, they've become amateurs who fail to cover marks, cut off runs, leave spaces open, fall behind marks, make mistakes in the box, ... etc etc etc!!!!

                                the SAME PLAYERS!!!!

All they have to do is re-do what they were taught to control their zone.

The Bahrain game & goal was an absolute fluke. so I'm not counting that.
But today's display was a team in shambles! ... WITH THE SAME SET OF PLAYERS!!!!!!
