My only positive expectation of Branko in terms of player call-ups and meritocracy (because I believe that he was the worst of all the national team coaches in this respect for many reasons* even if in practice there were other coaches who were much worse due to other reasons so he is the better choice now)

Is that he will bring Moharrami and play him over Rezaeian. That's it.

    Apart from that, I expect:

    - Alipour to come to TM and possibly play over Kaveh. May even be rotated with Sardar.
    - Khalilzadeh to return
    - Shojaei to stay at least until WC 2022 as a starter - Given he brought him to TM in the first place and hyped him over so many of our other youngsters in '06
    - Lack of any keeper rotation and threat to mean that Beiranvand becomes complacent, stays at PP and gradually deteriorates due to overconfidence, at the same time players like Niazmand don't get the games to become future keepers and we end up with a dearth of solid internationally-tested keepers again.

He is literally awful when it comes to building meritocracy, and he gets too easily swayed by politics with regards to who he picks.

I hope to be proved wrong.

    ----------------------
    * Bringing Khatibi back to TM and playing him over some talented youngsters
    * The complete lack of meritocracy by which a soorakh Mirzapour got as many caps as Abedzadeh
    * Badavi, Alavi, Kameli Mofrad - you remember those days...
    * Having an agent in our tournament camp, with a say in which player got chosen ffs...
    * Falling out with our talented IPL player of the year (who was only 22yo) over a failed Dynamo Zagreb move and not even bringing him to the WC squad

Dinamo are really a high quality team. So tactically disciplined and technically proficient. Orsic, olmo are seriously top wing talents. It keeps becoming more impressive that moharrami even managed so many minutes here in his first season.
The right back stojanovic is very solid offensively and defensively, but I think in terms of dribbling and technique sadegh is superior. Still it would take him getting a move out for sadegh to have a real chance to become first choice

very interesting interview with Sadegh's coach at lokomotiva by Team Melli talk.
The conversation about sadegh starts at 15 minute mark. To summarize he basically said:

-he was very happy to get sadegh on loan because he is a quality player, and he hopes they can agree with dinamo to extend loan to end of season.
-he is a player of very high technical qualities, excellent pace, able to play 3 back and 4 back formations (but currently better as a wingback)
-He fits perfectly into a team that wants to play at high pace and with fast transitions from defense to offense.
-his character is excellent, he plays with consistency and high intensity in all the trainings, and is eager to learn and improve
-As many here have said, his main work with sadegh is to improve him defensively, and lokomotiva's profile as a team that gives young players chances allows him to do this.
I kind of wish interviewer had presed him on what specifically he is working with him on improving defensively.

and sadegh will be starting vs his parent club dinamo in under half an hour.

Ivo Pinto, the rb Dinamo brought in over the summer, has been sold to Familcao in Portugal. Sadegh's loan is also done so it will be him and Stojanovic battling it out again/rotating for Dinamo

Sadegh started for Dinamo again for their friendly today vs. Croatian club, Orijent:

                      *Dinamo won the match 2-0
*Sadegh was praised for his performance by Croatian media

"Moharrami and Moubandje also offered a lot of good, all in all we watched another nice performance by the team of Nenad Bjelica"

moharrami started and played 90 in the league tonight and produced a fantastic assist with weak foot for the second goal, 2-0 win.

                        Assist at 0:35.

                          Finally he does in assist!

This team is heavily scouted and if he makes good performances like Dani Olmo he can play for Leipzig or similar team!

somebody can just change the thread title to dinamo zagreb.

He looks like he has improved a lot and can seriously challenge stojanovic for starting spot (who fucked up in the recent Cup QF match and wasnt in squad today), and hopefully insert himself into the xi by the start of next season.

IT would be a huge achievement for sadegh, who is still just 23, could show himself in Champions league/ Europa League on a consistent basis.

Then we have people who still think that ramin should be starting right back...

Benched and they lost 1-0 vs Hajduk Split.
Dinamo got 2 red cards though.
