Rio ave slippage and sliding all over the place.

Really poor passes by Rio's left winger today.

0-0 FT. Pretty boring, uneventful match. There's good news and bad news about this result.

Good news - Amir was error free, and gets another clean sheet.

Bad news - Mehdi didn't score.

Rio completely outplayed by Maritimo the last 30 minutes.
Rio's defense and midfield has alot of fitness issues.

0-0 FT. Another shutout by Abedzadeh. Both GK for both sides did fantastic. Great effort by Mehdi as always. Rio's defense/midfield spotty (and slippery) today.

mehdi has already done his work thankfully. Everything from now is just bonus, to help rio get EL qualifiers (which frankly they would not qualify for with thsi squad)

Rio failed to create much, Taremi did well with what he had and was running until the dying minutes.

Abedzadeh looks confident in goal. He should stay at a team like this and get more experience before considering serious offers. As a keeper you gotta make sure you're a starter wherever you go.

Thank you for sharing Ardalan. This is fantastic news! Ali Alipour has not extended his contract with Persepolis and Alipour's agent, Alireza Nikoomanesh (who is also Taremi's agent) is already hinting that Alipour may continue his football next season in Portugal along with other potential players from back home. Here is where things get interesting, not only is Rio Ave interested in Alipour, but also Vitória de Guimarães.

Alireza Nikoomanesh has another Iranian diamond on her sleeve. Ali Alipour, 24, is Persepolis' scorer and could arrive in Portugal next season. Vitória de Guimarães and Rio Ave may come to discuss this hiring.

«They will hear about him very soon. Taremi is a reference and many Iranians already want to play in Portugal », he warned.
Rio Ave: We often see this tactic of many teams replacing like for like players based on their nationality, position, and club team after their former players had much sucess at the club in hopes of creating revenue. (For example, Frankfurt buying Dejan Joveljić in a like for like move for Luka Jović, Atalanta rumored for Roger Martínez because of Duvan Zapata, and now Alipour in place of Taremi). The rationale behind this move makes perfect sense with it being realistic and very ideal/convenient for Rio Ave. It's most likely confirmed Taremi will be departing once the league finishes with Rio Ave looking to sell Taremi either domestically in Portugal to a "Big-3" team or to a team in one of Europe's top 5 leagues for some sweet, sweet dosh. Using the same principle, Rio Ave can see Alipour as a potential revenue like Taremi, who also produced good stats back home in Iran like Taremi did (e.g. league top scorer 2017-2018) and in the 2018 Asian CL (in addition to being a finalist). They will regard him as a like for like substitution and will be financially appealing for Rio Ave instead of having to spend fortunes in European/South American markets, they could get a player on a free who can produce numbers. Unpopular Opinion: I agree that Taremi is the overall better player than Alipour, however I believe Alipour will be statistically the better player due to his directness. What do I mean by this? In terms of pure number of goals (goals from open play, not penalities), I believe Alipour will deliver more in open play as a result of his direct style of play, speed, and agility. Taremi is however the better team player; he will go along his way to track back and help out with defence/corner kicks (e.g. like he did on Nanu today), draw lots of fouls/win penalties, unselfishness (in contrast to Alipour), and ideally in it for the team. In terms of fitting Rio Ave's style of play, I believe Alipour may struggle with this more than Taremi due to playing more direct, where as Rio Ave play a more possesion based style of football with lots passing heavily involved in the build up of play. Though, I believe under Carvahal, Alipour's game will be revolutionized and taken to a whole different dimension over time. Alipour may also suit them as a winger against weaker sides in the league should they play a formation using wingers.

Vitória de Guimarães: Another respected Portugese upper mid-table team like Rio Ave with very passionate fans who played in EL this season (who although finished last, gave Arsenal a run for their money in a 3-2 lost and 1-1 draw, also defeated Frankfurt). They are curently sitting in 7th place in the table and finished 5th in the table last season. Their coach is currently Ivo Vieira and they have a very good stadium (30k capacity) in the league with good training facilities for a upper-midtable side. They mostly play a 4-3-3 formation with a 4-2-3-1 variant under Ivo Vieira. Vitória have good players in Marcus Edwards, Ola John, Evangelista, Leo Bonatini, and Wakaso. With that being said, there are slight rumors from Portugese media mainly that László Bölöni is rumored to be their next coach (who is a good coach but I doubt it will happen). Some of their best matches in the league was their 7-0 victory away and their 5-1 win over C.D. Aves. I believe this team will also be very suitable for Ali Alipour because of their style of football and Alipour's speed, agility, and directness. The team's style of play is also very much suitable for him. (Side note: Niazmand pubicly said he had an offer from this team back in January).

Paços de Ferreira (Bonus): The offer was officially rejected back by Persepolis for being too low back in January. However, this offer was legitimate from Paços de Ferreira in Portugal, a team players like Diogo Jota played for who now plays for Wolves. Carlos Carvalhal, Rio Ave manager, was the target of an assault attempt this Tuesday morning, when he was arriving at his home. He was injured in the attack by a group of hooded men.
