According to Abola (see the link below), Medhi went back to Portugal after he was left out of the Iran squad for Hong Kong match due to a foot injury he picked up in the Rio Ave match vs Sporting. Yesterday, Abola reported that he was rested in the first practice in preparation for Sunday match vs Tondela. This is a good move by Rio Ave technical and medical staff. Hopefully, they will be cautious and our boy only gets back when he is healthy and ready.

    Go Medhi!

The ten new signings keen to make waves in the Primeira Liga (PortuGOAL.net article)

      Mehdi Taremi (Rio Ave)

Rio Ave’s project under newly-appointed Carlos Carvalhal has attracted a number of familiar and equally intriguing names to the Estádio dos Arcos. Iran international Mehdi Taremi promises to be the face of a potentially successful assault on the market, reportedly taking a pay-cut in a desperate bid to make waves in his first European stint. It’s so far so good for the forward too, bagging a hat-trick and an assist in his second game versus Desportivo das Aves before menacing runs against Sporting, earning his side three penalties and their first scalp of the season, set the free transfer up as an early contender for signing of the season.

He is currently our most exciting legionnaire to watch play. Hope he keeps up his past few weeks top form and keep impressing everyone. Go Mehdi Go!

Abola reported earlier today that Mehdi will be evaluated tomorrow morning to decide whether he is ready for tomorrow's match vs Tondela. The article mentions knee pain and that is different from the foot injury he reportedly picked up in the match vs Sporting. I hope everybody thinks about the long term interest of the player and the club and do not rush him back if he is not ready.

          Go Mehdi!

No Taremi today, not even on the bench. Hope he recovers very soon.

The fact their own manager came out after his debut and said he’s too good for them and the league says it all 😀

Think Taremi will be at Porto or Benfica next season if he maintains his form. Similarly seeing Mehrdad going to somewhere like Braga.

Taremi's return for Saturday Rio Ave's match against Belenenses is deemed as 'still possible' (using Google translator) so I would read this as he is probable for Saturday. Wishing him a full recovery and hopefully he will only play when he is ready.
