This is a good move. Milad will get more visibility in Belgium and more ... Gent sits at number 240 in world club ranking https://footballdatabase.com/ranking/world/5 while Akhmat Grozny is ranked 280th https://footballdatabase.com/ranking/world/6. Of course one could make various arguments about the strength of the two leagues yet the exposure factor is key here.

    Go Milad!

Gent playing Az alkmaar today. Time to start keeping track of this team.

Mechelen doesn't get the EL ticket!
Iran deserves better, TM deserves better.
        O.G from '97 & still here

Good luck to Milad in his new team.

It is a respectable and consistently good team from the Belgian league.

Can some of our Belgium based members (I think we have at least one or two) give a brief (or detailed) summary of what Belgian fans and the Belgian media establishment think of Iranian football and players?

Lets hope that he has a better time in Belgium than Rezaeian did, who was not successful. I think Milad has a better attitude though and will be able to polish different aspects of his game now that he is in a league that punishes mistakes more.

big difference between the two players is that, Milad has already played several years in Europe while Ramin moved from Iran. Milad will settle in much easier.

So Gent qualify for the EL instead of them?

Yes, I think the other team was match fixing

glad he’s staying in Europe, I think with his skill set and age, this is a perfect move for now! And must be a more fun place to live too. Good for him, you’ve got our support

Issue of Europa League isn't concrete yet.

Mechelen has basically been disqualified and in theory Gent would be the replacement (as the top league team which hasn't already qualified)

But Mechelen has appealed against the decision and the hearing will happen in a few weeks so who knows what the F will happen. It's up to UEFA to make a decision and decide whether they will allow Gent to compete given the likelihood of Mechelen's appeal success
