He didn't really extend, there was another year option on his contract and they exercised it so he wouldn't leave on a free

There will be plenty of opportunities for Majid to leave. Coronavirus will have made things difficult for him, especially the fact he wasn't a regular starter during the restart. However, should Dragan Skočić make him a regular starter for Iran, give him some confidence, and allow him to show his great potential in a TM shirt, then I am sure he will get offers.

Unfortunate he was beat out at Tabzon. I hope he gets regular minutes wherever he ends up. He appears to be one of our best and youngest defenders. He will have valuable experience to add in our push to qualify as well.

"Super League team aspired to Hosseini in Trabzonspor!

Trabzonspor transferred from Esteghlal in 2018 and extended its contract until 2021 by using last season's option, Iranian stopper Majid Hosseini, from the Super League teams Antalyaspor and Sampdoria from the Italian teams. It was learned that Antalyaspor, who was in a new structuring this season, was insistent on the transfer of 24-year-old.

Iranian stopper Majid Hosseini, who played 57 games with Trabzonspor form and played 2 goals and 1 assist.

It was stated that the Italian team Sampdoria also made attempts for Hosseini.

Trabzonspor, on the other hand, is expected to consider offers from Majid Hosseini, who did not have the chance to play much this season."

"Sampdoria, in 2018 near the purchase of Hosseini: the background

Sampdoria in 2018 had focused on Hosseini: today Trabzonspor opens to the sale of the defender born in 1996.

The Sampdoria in 2018 would be close to placing a blow to the market. Majid Hosseini was in the crosshairs of the Sampdoria company which, according to the Turkish media, would have tried to snatch him from Trabzonspor .

The Sampdoria would have found the opposition of the Turkish club, convinced of wanting to focus on the '96 class. The central defender, who has played 57 games with Trabzonspor and scored two goals and one assist in total, has been little used this season. The Turkish club could open for sale."

According to Navad Majid Hosseini's transfer to Sampdoria has been confirmed! And if the transfer goes through$1.25 million Euros would go to Esteghlal due to some sort of clause in his contract

That Navad account is fake. Their website and show have basically been finished for a year now.

Don't know if the news is true or not.

Are you sure it's fake? Iran's coach Skocic follows the account and I've found them to be accurate following them for a couple months now.

I believe this is the original Navad account. It mentions Trabzonspor has placed a price tag of 5 million for his transfer. Nothing about the transfer being completed.

There has been a level of credible interest from sampdoria for majid hosseini since last year, according to Burak zihni who is a reporter for local trabzon press and was a member here for a while. full thread here on twitter where he details everything :https://twitter.com/burakzihni61/sta...82672385798147

Their offers of 1 and 2 million EU respectively were rejected last year but it now seems that they are ready to offer around 4.

Key here is that majid will be free agent next summer. Trab have no income from European competition which would have helped finances a lot. This is their last chance to make a nice profit on majid or lose him for zero next summer. They can definitely include a sell on clause which could even get them more money if majid does well at sampdoria and transfers in the future. Trab have lost key players Novak and Sosa due to financial difficulties, but failed to recieve any transfer fee for novak who moved on a free to Fener. basically it seems they are actively looking to sell majid and it would just be stupid not to do so.

Sampdoria are not in desperate need of a cb, but have a squad opening as maya Yoshida's loan from southampton ended and wont be renewed. Although he was a key starter since he joined in january.

Their current CBs are the very physical Omar Colley, experienced Tonelli, and younger guys Chabot+Ferrari (22 and 26) who managed around 20 starts between them. Sampdoria alternate between 4 back and 3 back systems and were 7 pts off relegation last year. Although they are a very historic club with solid squad and great manager in Ranieri (won title with leicester). ranieri actually revived their season after taking charge in october and they jumped from dead last to comfortably avoiding the drop.

I doubt majid would be a starter immediately, but playing in Serie A will definitely make him a better defender,Ranieri can really improve him and I am sure will give him a fair shot.

If it goes through its an upgrade for him and nice move. His ruggedness fits in the mould of old school italian defenders, but he is very good with ball at his feet and building out back. Once he irons out some decision making tendencies in his game (a bit impulsive, not rare for young defenders) he can be a top CB. This comes with EXPERIENCE and high level of defensive coaching, advice which he will get in sampdoria. Making mistakes like he has is very normal for young defenders but the key is he is able to learn and grow from them, because besides those he has all the tools to be great.
