I think you guys are underrating the Olympiacos move...

Yeah the league is kinda meh, and obviously if he has top 5 european league offers he should take it (sassulo, levante, etc), but playing for a CL side is always worth while.

Plus Olympiacos is a better team than Trabzonspor, and the Greek league isn't much worse than the Turkish league...

I agree, if at end of this season he has no top 5 league offer, olympiakos is a decent move then.

He gets CL regular football, probably nice wage bump, starting spot, and olympiakos have good recent record of exporting players to top leagues. Tsimikas and Podence the most recent to liverpool and wolves and probably mady camara up next.

But to commit to anything now would be stupid imo, considering he holds all the cards. Perform like this until end of season, the many teams that had interest will surely be more interested after 6 months of strong matches and a free transfer. Then he can make best choice.

Yes, perform like a rock star in the next six months and you are going to get a rock star contract from a top team. However, don't perform or fall out of favor of the coach or get another silly red card or, or, or... and you are gonna wish Tractor Sazi to come for you. And to say nothing of injury... get injured and you are going to be in an even bigger trouble.
This is their livelihood. We, as team meli fans, may wish for our players to shoot for the moon, but they may find comfort in getting a three to five year contract from Olymiakos and have that security that they are going to make decent money and play at a decent team... meanwhile, if they perform as a rockstar in Olympiakos in Greece and CL, then a top team can still come for you anyways after a year or two... In other words, have security, further your development in Europe and not really cap your upside too much...
Also, his team wants him to sign a two year extension. In order to entice him to sign, they may not play him after the other defender recovers from his injury. Wouldn't put it passed Turkish clubs... If he is not starting for the last 3 or 4 months of the season, his good offers will fade some too...
So many angles on this one. Not a straight forward decision in my opinion.

the article says that he he apparently declined the offer..!!? probably it was Low Ball offer ? or still more enamored by the kos interest ? knowing that he will more guaranteed of a CL football there ? or most probably just playing hard to get ? still taking his time and assessing all offers ..!

At least he is garnering serious interest again. Lets hope he makes the right call.

One thing I will also add is trab probably wont get euro football this season and if they do they were quite shit last time around, prioritizing League over EL.

With Kos in CL they are always competitive so its a good platform to show himself from that regard. Similarly anderlecht will be in the EL should they qualify as they have a pretty exciting young team.
