An unnamed Brighton player has tested positive for Covid, the timing of this the day before decisions are made by the Premier League teams on how the season is to continue could be influential.
From what has come out so far is that they are looking to play games at neutral venues, which Brighton are not happy about with 5 of their last 9 games being at ‘home’ and four of these against the ‘big six’ and so they see this as giving them less of a chance of winning.
Another thing that has been mentioned is that teams will be allowed 5 substitutes per game.

Was kept private and never mentioned . First round of covid testing being done on premier league players and staff, so far 6 positives have come back. The Burnley assistant manager and one player and two staff from Watford but no names being given. The other two positives are from another club but they wish to keep it private .

Every game will be shown live in the U.K. too. Out of the 92, 4 games will be shown on BBC (first time live premier league game on terrestrial tv in a long time. 62 will be on sky sports of which 25 will be free to view (so don’t need to be a subscriber) and the rest between Amazon Prime and BT Sport.

Is it clear if the EPL will allow five (5) subs like the Bundesliga? If so, and given the impacted schedule, not even Pothead will be able to bench JB.

I think EPL was the league that first introduced the proposal.

Given fitness concerns for the teams, I expect Alireza to get plenty of opportunities...
