Are you talking about 2022 WC or the one after that?!
Iran next game is in March after Norouz and you gladly want to wait to hire a coach on February? Do you seriously think is enough time for a new coach to get ready for March game?
What kind of quality coach will accept such conditions and responsibility?
This issue is becoming political and very dangerous with serious political/security implications.

Spain switched coaches right before the WC (and that was by choice!). Timing is important, but competence and commitment are just as vital. We do this too fast without finding the right candidate, and we'll end up with another idiot like Wilmots who will crash and burn TM into oblivion.

The federation has until month or so before bahrain match to fix the coaching issue. Hashemian can take over for hong kong and cambodia.

If they really think they have chance for renard, maybe better to sit tight.

FFIRI should quickly announce an Iranian as head coach for Team Melli before it is too late. The financial hurdle and international transfer issues means it would be the right decision not to appoint a foreigner as head coach. This year there were many foreign coaches who left Iran due to not being paid on time. We are running out of time, Bahrain is very confident now after winning a tournament, Iraq top of our group very confident too. While our team is demoralized, lost two crucial games, currently sitting in third place in our group, currently having no head coach, had missed out on friendly game in FIFA day, no planned friendlies for January/February to prepare the team for WCQ fixtures in March!

Contract termination has caused loss of money, legal headaches and bad reputation. When can't pay money on time, better not to hire foreign coaches.

They should really appoint Ali Daei (suggest as assistant to him Markar Aghajanian, Karim Bagheri, Vahid Hashemian) or Yahya Golmohammadi (allow him to keep his job with Shahr Khodro as well). Alternatively Amir Ghalenoei (allow him to keep his job with Sepahan as well).

I mainly agree. The only match that may give us trouble is the last game in Azadi against the Iraqis.

Against Hong Kong in Tehran = Walk in the park
Against Cambodia in Cambodia = Breeze
Against Bahrain in Tehran = "W" for Iran
Against Iraq in Tehran = Iran should win but as always the heirs of Saddam will trouble us.

Then again, anything is possible in Football as Queiroz and many have taught us. I hope the Men go in there with a "Do" or "Die" attitude (rather than with my complacent attitude above).

The Bahrain game is gonna be difficult too. They won the Persian Gulf Cup last week beating Iraq and Saudi Arabia.
