sardar needs to go somewhere he can shine and show himself, and that is not below his level. There is no need to jump ship just to say I play in a top 5 league but playing for a random midtable team. ARJ did that, look how he ended up.
My point is he shouldnt sell himself cheap/short, and I dont think he will. I am sure top 6 teams in the top 4 leagues are considering him. If an offer comes from one of these, and they want him to be a main player, he should take it. But sardar is no longer a 19 year old kid with 20 professional games under his belt. He has shown consistency in hard competitions vs big teams time and again. He can make a proper move.
Fioretina are 13th in the table right now. I think if you ask most of their players they would rather play for zenit than fiorentina, at least it is comparable and zenit would beat them actually. It would not be a superior move for sardar, and thankfully I dont even think he will entertain such types of moves.
Do you think guys like wilmar barrios, rakitskiy, santos, etc would take such a move from zenit right now? I highly doubt it.

IF you guys think level of russia is poor italy is really not that much higher apart from a few teams. That is the sad truth of italian football currently. I think zenit can improve as a whole bc they have a solid team but with additions of kokorin, malcom, and hopefully a new creative mid will go to an even higher level. In roma, only aging dzeko and average, aging kalinic are forwards. Azmoun could easily challenge for starting role, especially as dzeko probably only has a couple years max left in him. At lazio azmoun would likely be a starter, partnering immobile. He would represent a huge upgrade to caicedo and give lazio the edge in top 4 hunt they always have been lacking towards back end of season.

Overall Italy is not a great option for him. Similar to russia in that matches are quite defensive and tactical. Not a lot of space for forwards and teams do not play with high intensity ball movement, lot of creativity. (obviously this is changing slowly)

Germany is best place for him by far. Dortmund, Gladbach, Schalke, etc (leipzig even if they lost poulsen and werner would be looking for forwards). The high intensity style of german football, high pace, rapid counter attacking, high pressing, etc all suits his game the best.

Spain, if valencia lose a guy like rodrigo, also a reasonable option.

But fiorentina, werder bremen, etc for a player of azmouns record is a bit insulting. and again they seriously couldnt afford him anyways. Just his salary of 3 mil EU is too much for those teams by far. Let alone a 25 mil EU transfer fee.

They ended with same amount of points as zenit but in weaker group. Zenits results in CL werent good enough, but ultimately they proved to be stronger head to head than lyon, on par with benfica, and still able to give leipzig close games, although the gulf in class was obvious. If zenit had a fit in form malcom I dont think its a stretch to say they would have advanced. Even if they had an available rakitskiy and driussi on final night vs benfica I think we can agree they would advance there too.
Anyways, little point discussing it because there is such a small chance he will ever be playing for a midtable italian team.
