zenit are right not to budge. 25 million Id say is an extremely fair price for somebody who has performed so well in MULTIPLE seasons, in multiple competitions, for multiple clubs. He has experience that younger players lack and can play in various systems effectively.

If Odsonne Eduoard of Celtic, Moussa Dembele of Lyon, and Jonathan David of Gent are all going for 30 million, then that is a fair price for sardar too. He has achieved more than those players in european competitions for multiple years, has finished as second top scorer of his league 2x in a row (could clinch top scorer this year), and has big international experience too.

Unrelated, but Zenit vs Akhmat tomorrow (Saturday) at 8:30 am pacific time. Hope Sardar can bag a few goals and close the gap on Artem!

Should be a predictable win for Zenit if the usual starters start. It'll be nice to see Azmoun start as he was subbed in during the last game and should be more rested tomorrow.

No Azmoun today. I thought he would be rested next match before the cup semi-final...

Yup. Azmoun not in the match day squad today. Looks like Zenit is resting all of their main players for the cup match (Dzyuba, Barrios, Ratsiksy, Ivanovic, Malcom, etc.).

So he has to score at least 2 goals in 2 games to become the top scorer.

                    1-1 at 46'. Clearly a B-team performance here.

far fetched thinking perhaps..? but another reason for B team intro today could well be ....

Zenit is Putin's team and he often does the bidding for the Chechens in russian political arena, in order to keep them happy and on their side...!! this could well be another indirect effort to help Akhmet scape relegation..??? wouldnt surprise me if zenit looses this game late on in order to gift the full 3 point to ensure their league survival. ..!!?

My point exactly. I can't remember the last time I saw Zenit get a red card.

Funny article about the celebration, also mentions that tottenham are after Dzuba

One fan joked that Dzyuba had been instructed to observe best behavior but had misplaced his good intentions after a couple of drinks.
Another said: "This is what happens when you score more than Dzyuba in the game."
Dzyuba has been in astonishing form for club and country over the last two years, scoring 13 goals in 20 matches for Russia, including nine strikes in 10 games last year.
That run has seen the 6ft 5in hotshot linked with a move to Premier League Tottenham as Spurs boss Jose Mourinho looks to help his players become winners too – even if he might prefer their celebrations to show a little more restraint than Dzyuba's.

Would be awsome if tottenham buys both dzuba and sardar.. would be a sick move!

                              Exclusive: Osimhen resolves Napoli issues

Victor Osimhen will sign for Napoli over the next 48 hours, our sources tell Football Italia, as the problem was always with his agent, who is now threatening to sue the Lille striker.

Multiple sources including L’Equipe claim that final negotiations are taking place today and tomorrow in Sardinia to secure the deal, worth in the region of €81m.

The Corriere dello Sport maintain it’ll be €50m cash plus full-back Adam Ounas to cover the difference.

Our sources close to Osimhen confirm the issue that had prompted him to turn down Napoli last week was with his entourage and that was smoothed over by the arrival of a new intermediary.

A shame as it would have been a great place for azmoun.

But just the fact he was high on there list of potential milik replacements shows how far his stock has risen in the eyes of big euro clubs.

Eventually one will make a move.
