    Persepolis 1993 Flashback

    Meet your Persian Love Today
In the 1992-93 AFC Cup Winners Cup, Persepolis of Iran and Yokohama Marinos of Japan reached the Final.
1st leg in Japan ended in a 1-1 draw however in the 2nd leg in Tehran the Marinos brought in an Argentinian striker who in front of a packed stadium grabbed the cup for them with his single goal of the return match; almost similar to what Jubilo Iwata did to Esteghlal in 1999 however in the 18th Asian Club Championship Final and again in front of another full house in Tehran.
Now in the 2018 AFC Champions League Final, the 37th Asian Premier Club Tournament & the 16th AFC Champions League, Kashima Antlers are already 2 up with the 1st leg at home with both goals from their Brazilian boys.
Lets take a look at what happened 25 years ago when the press warned Persepolis with an already away goal in bag "Beware the cup doesn't fly away in Tehran".
