They are NOT gonna put Jahanbakhsh in a league game straight away.
He WILL get time. They paid too much for him NOT TO play him. But he has to be effective.
I was very disappointed with his play in the AC. May be CQ likes him but never managed to find the proper formation for him to be effective when TM usually plays to defend first and hope for counters. By the time CQ was ready to go on attack, it was 60 miutes into the game and he would get subbed out.
He has to stay patient and confident in his abilities. But he also needs to play in hard fought games.
Hope the next 3-4 months has better things in store.

BTW, i have found a site that SO FAR I have managed to watch all the games NOT on regular TV .... Asian Cup, FA Cup, Premiere league ...

Up front I would like to see ARJ-Andone-Locadia.

Joined team late, didn’t expect any minutes today tbh.

I thought Locadia, Andone, and Propper were standout today. Brighton unlucky to not score 2-3, Ben Foster had a monster game in goal

                    BHA 0 Watford 0

                    Brighton & HA 0 Watford 0

Back from the game, first thoughts:

Brrrm, it bit chilly, felt below freezing

Bombardment of the Watford goal, nine half chances for the Albion in each half, of which four went close. Shooting and heading was not good enough. Watford had three quarter chances at the beginning of the second half with breakaways.

Watford were faultless in defence, pushed back more and more as the game went on, to a constant siege near the end.

Davy Pröpper played well in midfield, Solly March made use of his pace on the right wing. Locadia got involved but still looked inelegant, Montoya looked better than just a right back, and Bong looked very confident on the ball. Murray made only one foul, but Florin Andone could not beat Foster one on one.

Simon Hooper was a good referee.
Brighton now drawn back into a relegation battle.

Watford looked quite good on the ball but Brighton were better and Watford were just overrun by the end.
                    0-0 FT

Shit or not, ARJ will always be twice the player Locadia is. Really no need to stress, ARJ has about 15 games this season to perform with virtually no quality competition for his spot in a stable team that isn't going down. The conditions could not be better.

The issue isn't that AJB is shit or whatever but rather that he is suited much better to an attacking system. The reason he shined in the Eredivisie was because he played for a top 4 team that played attacking football and, to a lesser extent, the league's relative weakness to the Prem.

I think he would have been a better fit at Leicester City because of their more attacking style compared to BHA. Would he have performed like he did in Holland? I don't think so at all.

                          Brighton & HA 0 Watford 0

                          View pretty well unaminious

                          https://www.skysports.com/watch/vide...ointed-to-draw

Although Brighton created about 18 half chances (21 shots recorded), only eight of them were actually close, including four saves and four misses. Most from open play. This should be good enough for a win given the average rub of the green.

Down to diligent defending by Watford and less than exquisite shooting and heading by Brighton. And Foster's quick reactions.

                          Half chances:

                          1) Pröpper, narrow angle far post, shot wide. Groß fk.
                          2) Locadia header well saved. Groß op.
                          HT
                          3) Murray heads over. Groß fk.
                          4) Locadia header well saved. Groß op.
                          5) Duffy overhead kick, very well saved, corner
                          6) Andone one on two, well saved op.
                          7) Andone, swivel and shot, narrow miss op.
                          8) Bissouma, unchallenged shot from the edge of the box, narrow miss, op.

Other one third chances missed by March (shot), Groß (shot), Dunk (header), March (good defending), Murray (good defending), Bong (missed chance), Duffy (missed chance), Locadia (shot), Groß (shot).

Watford's three opportunities were one in twenty chances, if that. Score could have been 7-0 on a good day. I had a bet on for 5-1 @ 200/1.

Bernardo will make his comeback from injury in Albion's FA Cup replay at West Brom on Wednesday night.

Manager Chris Hughton has confirmed that Alireza Jahanbakhsh and Dan Burn will also be in the side for the fourth round return clash at the Hawthorns (8.05pm).

*Chris Hughton wants the "safety net" of 40 points (currently 27) for Albion. 38 pts will probably be more than enough.
