Apparently what happened was that he was invited for the show, but when he got to Iran seda-o-sima said they don't have enough budget to pay him so he didn't come on the show, and Adel got mad at seda-o-sima and didn't come on for the first part of the show either.

Puyol could've been in Spain or Kazan for the game.. but he was in Tehran hotel watching it in Iranian commentary lolll
              Poor guy.

Nobody forced him to go there. Obviously he got a lot of money to be there.

                Anyone knows what really happened?

well, it doesn't make sense that they offered his flight/accommodation, but did not allow him to be on the show. This means it's not a financial issue.

He told BBC Persian they didn’t let him on because of his appearance (long hair). Fucking disgusting.

That's what some asshole told him to make Iran look even more stupid.
Reasons are related to some sort of issue between the sponsor and the Chairman of the channel.
The channel chairman is probably an idiot and hates not getting attention.

Last night there were posts on IG (an Adel Ferdosipoor fan page) on this with clips of Adel and his comments. According to the comments (and impression I got from Adel's comment) it's not that Puyol didn't want to come. It was seda o sima/ Adel's bosses that didn't allow his appearance due to sanctions and that they don't want a foreigner on TV. Adel was fighting and pushing to get him be on the show but they didn't allow it.
