It is surprising we don't play Austria. Iran has good relations with them, we held most our camp & friendlies there and we already face them 17 years ago.

      - The friendly game against Libya will be held on March 14th in Azadi Stadium and in front of spectators (Why not another city???)
      - The Algeria game will be held on March 27th in Austria
      - Iran will play either Tunisia, Senegal or Bosnia on March 22nd
      - TM will play Uzbekistan on May 8th and either Iraq, Lebanon or Syria on May 11th
      - The Turkey game will be held in Turkey as previously announced.
      - The farewell game will be held in Iran against a "big team". (probably Netherlands or Italy)

They also said after the farewell game (12 khordad), TM will play against either Poland or Albania (as per CQ request) in either Greece or Austria. also the last game will be played in Russia against a WC qualified team!

So if everything goes according to plans, counting out Uzbekistan and Iraq, we'll have friendlies against:

      1. Libya
      2. Algeria
      3. Tunisia, Senegal or Bosnia
      4. Turkey
      5. a big team (Italy/The Netherlands?)
      6. Poland or Albania
      7. a WC qualified team

For our standards, that's not a bad preparation at all! The best one we've had! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Iran mostly camps in Austria because of good relations with the organizers of the camps, they are different from the federation.

The federation rarely plans friendlies against African/Asian countries.
They plan almost all friendlies at home against European (mostly neighboring countries) or big South American teams.

Italy will play France on June 1st

Netherlands will play Australia on May 28th, so a friendly vs Iran wouldn't be far fetched.

Maybe Taremi could talk with Sneijder to convince the Netherlands for a friendly

If they can get Italy or Holland for sure Azadi will get packed with people sleeping over night before. 2 weeks before WC iran will hit the fever. and just 5 weeks to go to tehran derby one of the hottest in long time

The best scenario would be this:

                  *Libya
                  *Algeria
                  *Tunisia or Senegal or Bosnia,
                  *Turkey
                  *The Netherlands
                  *Poland
*a team between: Egypt, Sweden, Belgium, Serbia, Senegal

Then I'd say we'd have a really good preparation. but the fact is usually much more complicated than that. We could get something like:

                  *Libya
                  *Algeria
                  *Tunisia or Senegal or Bosnia,
                  *Turkey
                  *Uruguay
                  *Albania
*Costa Rica, Peru or maybe Colombia

In which case it will still be way above our norm.

                    That was Robben.
Sneijder still plays for the NT.

I hope they will confirm soon, because time is running....

IFF should fix everything and announce it. or at the end everything will be too late and over again, as usual..

Why do we have to play Libya, Uzbekistan and an Arab team in Tehran? Is there no other city in Iran?

CQ and IFF should not be surprised if less than 1.000 people show up. (Unless it's behind closed doors)

So the Saudis managed to snatch Italy!!!! If we don't move, teams like the Netherlands will be gone too.

The Saudis are a step or 2 or even 3 ahead of us in all damn departments! Whatever success they get before us, they totally deserve it!!! We should really stop bashing them!

What's alarming is that none of these friendlies, including the ones against Libya, Algeria and Turkey are registered there in the Fifa calendar:

                                http://www.fifa.com/live-scores/inte...ml#month3-2018

It means they can change in the last minute so don't hold your breaths just yet! As of now, we don't have any real confirmed friendlies yet!
