Very crucial friendly for TM. Everyone will finally know if this team is the real deal and ready for the WC stage.
Thank you once again CQ for using your connections to set up this friendly! Hopefully IFF steps up to the plate and set up some more quality friendlies.

**Who else misses Khalatbari on TM. The guy was a true gem for us

Russia is not a world class team. They even struggle in Europe. This is a good friendly match with a team similar to our style and power. If we need to challenge our defense we have to play against South American or top 10 European teams like France, England, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, etc. A match vs Ireland, Wales, Sweden, Poland or even Austria can help us too.

Man I miss Khalatbari.... Fellow shomali
for his small definitive size, he sured packed a punch.
Still upset that CQ didn't use him in last WC.

A friendly with Austria would be excellent. They can even have the friendly in Isfahan since they have direct flights between Vienna and Isfahan

Peak Khalatbari. One of the best of an unfortunate dark era in Iranian football

The man coaching that squad? None other than Alireza Mansourian. His only match in charge of Iran. Guess we can say he has a 100% winning percentage when in charge of TM.

Khalatbari is a prime example of a quality player who didnt live up to even half of his potential because he stayed in IPL.
