[FONT="]It is regularly the case that a team who has already qualified for a tournament is less motivated to win than a team who need the points desperately. However, analysis of the match highlights effectively excludes match-fixing for a number of reasons:[/FONT]

1. If the match was to be fixed, the Iranians would have allowed the Syrians to win the game as a win would have given the Syrians a good chance of second spot in Group A and automatic qualification for the World Cup, rather than having to face Australia and then a team from CONCACAF in order to book their spot.
2. The first Syrian goal came from a rebound from a save by the Iranian goalkeeper and was put away in the corner leaving the keeper no chance to save.
3. Iran subsequently scored two goals and came very close to scoring more – only being kept at bay due to good saves by the Syrian goalkeeper and also by the crossbar on 57 minutes.
4. The Iranian goalkeeper saved a Syrian free-kick on 76 minutes.
5. On 89 minutes only an excellent save by the Syrian goalkeeper prevented Iran making the score 3-1 after an Iranian forward made a determined run and fierce shot on target.
6. The Syrian equaliser came in the third minute of added on time, with less than two minutes to play. Any deliberate match-fixing attempt would hardly leave it so late.
7. The equaliser came from a good move by Iran finished off effectively by Omar Al-Soma who slipped the ball between the keeper’s legs, with nothing suspicious in its execution.

Although the Syrian tears of joy at the equaliser were matched by Uzbek tears of sadness, any keyboard warriors hoping the result will be overturned by FIFA are unlikely to have their dreams fulfilled.

match-fixing does not have to involve all players on the field. I believe Azmoun was 100% determined to destroy Syria. What Pouraliganji does on the last goal however is super suspicious.

I'm not saying the match was fixed, but after all these clean sheets and the other stronger opponents like South Korea who didn't manage a shot on goal, only to suddenly concede 2 goals in Azadi is damn suspicious. I never saw our defence so disorganised before.

Seeing the 2nd Syrian goal, I also felt like Beiranvand let the goal in on purpose. But I am not sure.

Any ways if thats how Beiranvand is going to perform during WC final round, then we should definitely be looking for a replacement. Maybe Haghighi that is playing regularly in the swedish league.

البته این ویدئو که از سوی این بازیکن مسیحی تیم ملی سوریه که برابر ایران نزدیک به 30 دقیقه در زمین مسابقه حضور داشت،منتشر شده چندثانیه ای بیشتر نیست و شاید دقیقا نشود از آن برای قضاوت استفاده کرد اما همین کوتاهی باعث دست به دست شدن و همرسانی گسترده آن در رسانه های مجازی شده و اینطور از آن استنباط می شود که آنها به ایران توهین می کنند . در این شرایط و در حالی که مردم بابت حضور زنان سوری در ورزشگاه اندکی مکدر بوده و البته تصورشان بر این است که بازیکنان سوری باید بابت حمایت همیشگی ایران از این کشور از ایران متشکر باشند ، این ویدئو به شدت آنها را مکدر کرده تا جایی که بازیکنان سوری مورد حمله شدید کامنتی از سوی کاربران ایرانی در اینستاگرام قرار گرفته اند .

اما اصل ماجرا چیست ؟ یک شهروند سوری در پاسخ به ورزش سه با اشاره به شعار بازیکنان سوریه :"شقینا الایرانیه " به کژتابی این واژه اشاره می کند . به گفته او اگرچه ترجمه لغوی فعل "شقینا" اندکی خشن و حتی توهین آمیز به نظر می اید اما این یک شعار عادی استادیومی و ورزشی در سوریه است که ممکن است بعد از برد در هر مسابقه و بازی بی اهمیتی هم به زبان برنده بیاید و برداشت "گستاخانه" از آن نادرست است . به گفته او این درست که بازیکنان سوری در ویدئوی رختکن شعار "تیم ایران را شقه کردیم" سر می دهند اما برداشت درست از این ترجمه ، باید متفاوت باشد.( ترجمه بهتر ، شعار معروفی است که در مصرع اول آن از عبارت چی کارش می کنه استفاده می شود . مثلا : ایران چی کارش می کنه ؟ سوراخ سوراخش می کنه ).

همچنین به نوشته محمد باقر اسدی مترجم عرب ، شقیّنا در اصل شققنا است که در لهجه عامیانه قاف دوم برای سهولت تلفظ به یاء تبدیل می شود.شقینا معناهای زیادی دارد از جمله: باز کردن دروازه، پاره کردن، جر واجر کردن

I think Iran played crappy and coach and players failed to execute. We were hungry enough to win but couldn't and didn't. The failure bothers me as it will be harder in neutral field (Russia) Imagine how we felt to tie 2-2 with Australia back in mid 90s. They feel the same and football isn't played with most classy or polite people. I feel they jer-vajer us too. They won play off and broke our self-praising record of clean sheet.
