One of the best I remember is Janvario from Esteghlal! The Brazilian definitely had game.

I think stat wise Bruno Cesar is the best but his stay was too short. Only half a season but incredible goals in IPL & ACL. Armenak Petrosian I think was better than Nilsson.

I agree with those 3, I think Toure was my favorite player though. He was a great striker

Fabio Januario really was a quality player, same with Jlloyd Samuel.

                      Alan Whittle, Perspolis 1977-1978.
Scored 9 goals at the Takhteh Jamshid Cup.

He won also Engish Premier League (English Championship as it was called) with Everton in 1969-1970.
He was also close to become an England player, when Sir Alf Ramsey (English World Cup Champion coach 1966) called him up in 1972, but he didn't make it to the squad.

Among those playing in Iran from the 90's on:

                        In no particular order:

                        Bruno Cesar
                        Armenak Petrosian
                        Jesus

The best one for me was Bruno Cesar who played half a season in Sepahan and destroyed every team the IPL and ACL.
Toure was great too but was selfish and missed many chances.

                            Other good ones:
Emad Zoro, Igor Castro, Armenak, Janvario, Samuel

As for best performance in IPL:
I would say the following players did well in Iran.
