Please close theese threads that just create unnecessary rumours. Let Australia write what they want to write. They get their asses kicked by Germany tonight anyway!

Its NOT a coaching job but setting up a 'high profile' friendly...

"...A deal is yet to be done but it's understood talks are at an advanced stage. The friendly would be held in the March international window in what both federations hope will be a key part of their preparations for Russia 2018.
FFA chief executive David Gallop confirmed that negotiations were taking place. "

i dont think CQ will go to a asian team like australia, when he can go south africa or europe, and he love iran too much to go to a asian rival

There will be tons of rumors about him going to South Africa, PGCC nations and various UK clubs before the World Cup.
            Be prepared.
            It will be annoying.

CQ's stock is at an all-time high right now. The man has turned Iran into an Asian powerhouse it use to be. 11 consecutive WC matches without conceiving a goal is an outstanding accomplishment.

Depends if they can pay his salary. He is getting paid a lot right now with Team Melli.

Why would he leave such a success with Iran, to start from scratch with a new team?

No way he would ever leave Iran for another Asian team. Even if an Arab team would come with a really high pay deal, he would still say no.
Only way he leaves is for something European which I think is too much for him now.

TM job is actually a simple job for him as long as he can handle IFF. He is on vacation every several months plus he is one of the highest paid managers in the world.

There's an interview he's done in a in a Portuguese paper in the last few days. Some guy in the United forum translated it because he talks a lot about United and Real. Anyway he mentioned that he's not sure if he's going to stay after the WC.

He also mentioned the difficulties of working in Iran regarding religion/politics but said that he loves the country and it's one of the most beautiful and how people shouldn't believe the bad image it's has.

CQs marriage with TM is truly a successful one, as much as he made TM, keep in mind TM made him as he had A LOT of failures to before he took charge of TM and by the time he came to Iran he was really a forgotten character! he failed with Real Madrid and Portugal national team and did nothing special with UAE football as well. but with TM he took on a team that was on a serious decline, and completely rejuvenated it to the point that i can assure you if we get grouped with top 10 teams at the World Cup, they will take notice and will show concern. this is a true achievement and to say it was ONLY CQ's doing is really taking away from who and what we are as Iranians. He repeatedly says it himself that its his team that he is proud of and how much they sacrificed and worked hard. CQ is therefore successful because of the awesome partnership he has with Iranian football in general ( good or bad). This most definitely might not be the case if he took over Australia, Korea or even a much higher ranked team and HE KNOWS THIS PERFECTLY WELL!!! so lets not get our knickers in a twist, as long as TM is winning and IFF is paying him and building statues and shrines in his honor he will stay!...

He is hard head person to deal with and his history in past with South Africa, Portugal and even Real shows, i think he is the key factor to our success but as eerooni said , IFF also never gave up on him despite lots of disagreements.
