If I'm not mistaken the 2nd spot means direct ACL qualification and the 3rd spot has to go through play-offs.

Or if we get 2+2 spots and only the league and Hazfi champions get the direct qualification spots, and the teams that became 2nd and 3rd have to play play-off matches, then in that case indeed it wouldn't matter whether we end up as runner-ups or not.
