I agree on every previous comments critizing the 48 teams world cup and the new allocations. I am against it aswell.

However, we can also see it on different a way :

- More teams from Asia will bring more spotlights on asian players, asian clubs & NT and competitions (AFC/Asian cup), specially if they progress on these world cups. Good results is realistic, knowing 2 teams out of 3 will qualify from the second round and knowing FIFA invited more teams from africa, oceania and central america that aren't that superior to asian sides.
Only European and South American teams could trash asian teams easily but it will be a good experience for progression.

- Today, there is few coverage of asian competition and WCQ as people consider Asia as a joke (the same way we consider Oceania). No european will be impressed with iran not conceding a single goal during WCQ.
Only Japan, Korea, Australia are considered more or less decent in global stage because of their legionnaires in europe, their non-stop qualifications in world cup and some good results there.
The rest isn't considered sexy at all. If they see Iran, Uzbekistan, Saudi, Emirates at every WC and if they prove they aren't pushover, thing will change for Asia.

the problem is not qualification anymore, but to come out as group winner, because the groups will likely be 16 groups 3 teams, and every group will have one european team, so we have just two group matches from now on, and we must win our group to come out for 1/8 final.
you see, it is good that more teams can take part in the world cup, but it means nothing, for 32 teams, because they will be out after two games, 16 will stay, and the tournament really starts with the knock-out stage 1/8 final.

you guys can call me crazy, but actually i would like to see a World Cup with 64 nations (double the 32-format) = 16 groups of 4 teams. And this World Cup take part in a region of one continent or even more as one continent, by minimum 4 nations.

16 groups - 4hosts - every nation get 4 groups as has nation - costs will be shared by 4 nations. more countries of this world can host world simultaneously.

For example: Mediterranean World Cup - Scandinavian World Cup - North American World Cup - Caspian World Cup - Persian Gulf World Cup - African World Cup - Arabian World Cup - Far East World Cup (Korean+China+Japan+another country) - South-east-Asian World Cup - Oceanian World Cup with New Zealand, Australia, one ASEAN Country and one Oceanian Country if possible....South American World Cup...


Ideal:

64 nations
16 groups
4 nations a 4 teams
Two Teams advance from the groups (32)
1/32 , 1/16, 1/8, 1/4, 1/2, final = total matches for final teams = 10 Games maximum
THEREFORE LESS QUALIFICATION MATCHES NEEDED, more time for club nations, ands club football, and the real World Cup in the summer, best solution...

This is basically the best of both worlds for the filthy FIFA elite.

1 - bring in more desperate teams with tons of money like UAE, Qatar and China
2 - Sell more TV rights
3 - Still give all the power to CONMEBOL and UEFA. If you look at the formatting you will see they want to do 16 groups of 3 which means round 1 is only 2 games and the next round (with 32 teams) will only have one match. Basically people will have to wait for 4 years to see their country maybe play 2 matches!
