Rumour: CQ to be unveiled as South Africa Coach tomorrow

I am surprised no one is talking about this. There is a rumor that the announcement of TM list has been postponed because CQ is in negotiations with IFF to release him from his contract so he can coach South Africa.
All the Iranian sites are reporting this, including ISNA (the most reputable Iranian media).

CQ is owed a few months salary and the contract with IFF states that CQ must pay 1 million dollars as a penalty to disband his contract.

This is terrible news for TM, IF true. Two crucial games in 20 days.

Screw IFF for not being able to control the environment and provide basic facilities for CQ....and I partly blame CQ for taking us on a ride. Again....if true.

    We will find out tonight/tomorrow.

      I don't believe it.
He left South Africa for the same reasons he has issues with IFF. Why would he go back.
Iranian sports reporters are reaching whole new levels of being annoying, misleading, stupid and inflammatory.

Also ISNA is referencing an Algerian site for this news. Its trash. Slow news days.

CQ has been linked to South Africa since the first day he joined TM.

Except its not Iranian reporters, This is south african newspapers reporting this. The technical committee has apparently recommended that CQ be the headcoach.

CQ has family in SA, his daughter lives there and he vacations there. There are many reasons for him to go back.

The point is, the last thing TM needs is hashieh of this sort. One thing is clear, CQ wants to leave...at any cost.

Its like having a disgruntled employee who just wants to leave the company, he will do the minimum required until he leaves. That's not the kind of coach we need.

Unfortunately, we don't have a choice whether he goes or stays. If he goes, were stuck without a coach.... if he stays...he won't be motivated.

South African sports reporting is as bad as Iranian sports news reporting.
Here are reports from as far back as 2014 linking him to South Africa. He has family that live in South Africa so he visits alot, and because of that rumors are always flying about him.

Out of a shortlist of 10 coaches, the newspapers are reporting that renard and CQ are now the only ones left. Do you really think anyone would report that without a source?

It says right there, IF they are successful in breaking his contract with IFF by paying the million dollar fine, he will be the coach.

Now, whether he gets unveiled or not, CQ has negotiated this... that is fact, which brings me to my point... why keep someone who wants to leave?

If this was a legitimate news agency, I would agree, but I have heard this story so many times from South African sources that I don't believe anything they write.

CQ is a name they just loving throwing around. And I suspect their own federation throws it around to throw the trail off whoever they actually are negotiating with.
Just in the past 5 hours they added Roy Hodgson to the mix as well.

Indeed. At this stage this whole drama has become so annoying some clarity on the matter would be good.
If he did leave now though we should say good bye to WC 2018.

Here is an article stating that Heerenveen has put out an official statement stating that Gucci has been invited to TM camp, which would suggest the players have been called up regardless of the list being made public or not.

This would conflict with your report.

With how unprofessional IFF is, anything is possible.

We TM fans never have one day of mental rest with CQ resigning every day or so.
