Strømsgodset are looking for a potential replacement for Makani once his loan spell at the club is over. 23 yr old French keeper Sacha Bastien is on trial with them from French club Reims:

    "Makani-lending

The Iranian national team goalkeeper Sousha Makani (30) had great success in the 1st division of MIF last fall. Makani has contracted with eikværingene summer 2019, but in January it became clear that he referred lent to Strømsgodset until mid-August. Iran he needs to play at the top level to have a good chance to retain national team place, and maybe play the World Cup in 2018.

MIF needed thus a replacement for Makani.

Dane Marco Priis Jorgensen (25), who was the second goalkeeper behind Makani and first choice before it, is still in the MIF. It is also Youngster Kristoffer Bjørløw Solberg (20). Priis Jørgensen has watched the brown goals in recent friendlies."

Sosha`s competitor for the number 1 goalie is currently out with a injury. He will be out for 3 months. Sosha is then guaranteed the #1 spot.

In addition to Rayshirai's post above:

          "Goalkeeper trouble for estate

Strømsgodset goalkeeper Espen Bugge Pettersen (36) are put out of action for three months.

He has incurred a knee injury.

It writes Strømsgodset on the club's own website Tuesday.

          - Espen has received an injury to the posterior cruciate ligament and will start rehabilitation. He should expect a break of around three months, says physiotherapist Marius Hoel to godset.no .

The veteran is aware that he must work hard to be as fast as it will go.

          - Of course it was a very crappy message to get, but it could have been worse, says Bugge Pettersen.

36-year-old played 30 games for Strømsgodset last year.

The other two options in the squad is Iranian Sousha Makani (30), who was on loan to Mjøndalen last year, and the inexperienced 19-year-old Morten Sætra."

Analysis of the Strømsgodset squad prior to season kickoff

            "Analysis of the goal:

The last two years, Espen Bugge Pettersen (36) has been a clear first choice in goal for Strømsgodset. The veteran has played all league matches since he joined the club in 2015. Pettersen is a leader type and a stable final stand and after a good winter, he was probably still a first choice between the posts, but in March suffered himself an injury and is now out in around three months.

Thus, it is likely Sosha Makani (30), taken on loan from Mjøndalen, watching estate cage initially this season. The man from Iran came to the Norwegian league last season and were joined by 13 games and conceded 14 goals. Makani also got some playing time in the winter and emerged as a solid contender for the goalkeeper position. But there Pettersen is experienced and confident, has Makani seemed a bit more eccentric style and performance has fluctuated in the games he has played. It can be argued that Makani has a higher peak than Pettersen but he lacks the Elitserien-experience as 36-year-old boasts. The fact that Iranian still not completely confident in the language can also be a challenge for players around the last stronghold.

With Pettersen out for three months must manor on goalkeeper hunting before the season begins. Youngster Morten Sætra (19) has in fact gone on loan to Nybergsund / Trysil and it shall not be necessary to bring him back."
