    Mehdi Taj Thread

Recently, Taj with a lot of promises became president of IFF. Lets use this thread for any reforms he does to see if he keeps his promises.

So far not off to a bad start, already fulfilled one crucial promise:

Ticket selling is now up to clubs not the league, clubs will also get revenue from these tickets, before they would be divided at the the end of the season. This means clubs can now market on their own to attract fans.

This is a great first step, although clubs in Europe have been doing this for decades, we have to start somewhere. This will likely increase attendance numbers.

During his pre-election interview he promised to not allow any team leave their city and so far this has hold up! He prevented the move of Naft e tehran to Malavan.

Huge news: League 1 (Azadegan League) is now fully professional. This means the B teams of PGPL teams can no longer compete in League 1 and the highest level they can compete at is League 2. The ban on foreign players is still in effect but I have hopes that would be removed, the removal of the law would be the best thing that would happen to League 1. Also for next season their will be 18 teams, 2 will promote to PGPL, 3 will get relegated to League 2. Finally our league football seems to be moving forward, great steps made by Sazman Lig and Mehdi Taj.

Another huge news. The Taj revolution is ongoing

Mehdi Taj: It has been approved all clubs have a women's futsal or football team and we will take 3% instead of 5% of the players contracts.

good to see him delivering on some of his promises in a short period of time as president, but there is still a lot more work to be done. news of this TM camp playing serie b teams in italy is not ideal, he should be looking to do better with TM prep above everything else in this crucial time
          Team Meli Iran
          Perspolis FC
          Malavan Bandar Anzali

A lot of members seem confused by this. The camp is just for PGPL players as the league will be on break an extra 2 weeks, thats why we are playing Serie B teams, who are just as good if not better than PGPL. If we had all our legionnares and we were still playing teams like that, we could complain, but with just domestic player it is fine.

just to build on what he said. A lot of good teams will not have friendly games during that time frame since their league games are right around the corner or started already *in some countries*.
