He basically says, that he played in smaller teams such as Covilha and Penafiel to gain experience and that he preferred experience to money. Haghighi could've signed with Sassuolo who are currently 7th in Serie A, but he wasn't guaranteed a spot and chose Penafiel instead. Due to his performance in Penafiel, he is known among Portuguese experts, fans and journalists. He wants to take step by step to play in a good European team in a few years.

              Maritimo 0-0 Familicao

Maritimo have advanced to the semi-finals of the Portugese League Cup. But it's a rather a meaningless tournament as the winners do not qualify for European competitions. They will face Portimonense in the semi-finals.

He has not been added to their squad on their homepage. But he has practiced with them. I guess they are waiting until the ITC problem is resolved, which is quite normal.

Just to be clear, he is finally free from that prison in Rubin? No more connections to them? Is he free at last?!

"Alireza Haghighi and Charles Marcelo are the new keeper of the Sea, both of which reach the Barreiros to fight for the title with Romain Salin. Yet Iran may already be an option for the coach, while the Brazilian still awaiting the arrival of the international certificate.

Note that Haghighi, which in Portugal has defended the Sporting beacons of Covilhã and Penafiel, signed a contract for three and a half seasons, while Charles Marcelo, who arrives from Vasco da Gama, initialed a four-year agreement and a half."

He has a very professional attitude and it is because of this that he has grown as a keeper and played in the world cup. He can only go up from here, glad his contract with Rubin is now over.
