    2 - Mayeli Kohan

Unfortunately it's in French, but I will try to translate it: Football and politics have never been far away in Iran. For example the appointment of Mayeli Kohan the Persian coach between 1995 und 1997 has been appointed once more in 2009 during the qualification of the WC 2010. However, it didn't last more than 2 weeks as Mayeli Kohan got sacked. Officially it was due to conflicts with players and certain members at the federation. WikiLeaks (?!) mentioned an interference of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in this affair.
