Korean media estimated there will be 30,000 Chinese fans in Korea VS China match

        S. Korea confirms venue for World Cup qualifier vs. China
SEOUL, July 29 (Yonhap) -- South Korea will host China at the country's largest football-only stadium in the upcoming FIFA World Cup qualifier following the visitors' excessive demand for tickets, the national football governing body said Friday.
The Korea Football Association (KFA) said South Korea's opener versus China in the final Asian qualifying round for the 2018 FIFA World Cup will be staged at Seoul World Cup Stadium on Sept. 1. For the final round, where 12 teams compete, South Korea are grouped with Iran, Uzbekistan, China, Qatar and Syria in Group A.
Seoul World Cup Stadium is the largest football-only stadium in South Korea and can accommodate more than 66,000 fans. The decision followed after the Chinese Football Association (CFA) demanded a maximum 50,000 tickets for their supporters hoping to see China clinch their first World Cup berth since 2002.
The KFA said it decided to sell 15,000 tickets to the CFA for seats at the south stands of the stadium. However, the KFA added if Chinese residents in South Korea and travel agencies buy tickets separately, there could be more than 30,000 Chinese fans at the match.
This match will likely set a record for the largest number of foreign supporters visiting South Korea for a football match. In November 1997, some 10,000 Japanese football fans were at Jamsil Olympic Main Stadium in Seoul to watch the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualifier against South Korea.

South Korea head coach Uli Stielike showed his concern last week about Chinese fans outnumbering home supporters, saying his side could be booed on home ground. To counter the Chinese crowd, the KFA said tickets for the north stands will be sold through a local online mall, which only South Koreans can access, starting from 3 p.m. on Friday. The KFA added that seats on the east and the west sides of the stadium will be sold beginning next Thursday.
"Although the number of tickets that the CFA demanded has decreased, we still don't know how many Chinese fans will be at the stadium because many Chinese travel agencies had already sold tour packages linked to the match against South Korea," said Lee Hae-doo, the head of external cooperation at the KFA. "We want our home fans to purchase their tickets quickly so that South Korean players can perform without feeling intimidated by Chinese fans."

I like that there is an extra team in our group this time. The more it appears to be league style based the better it is for teams with better talent to perform. I'm optimistic that China is looking to spoil Korea's chances. We might get lucky and Uzbekistan/Qatar take each other out of contention. Best advantage is having Syria at home as our last home game in case we need anything(lets hope we would be in already).

It is essential for us to avoid losing though. It's not the end of the world if we tie teams weaker than us. Losing will give them a points advantage though. I think we are better equipped now to play against Uzbekistan. If you saw our roster from 2012 game against them in Tashkent, our team had players like Pejman Nouri/Mohammad Ebrahimi/an old Ali Karimi against them. Now our team is young and able to chase them down. We do need to practice defending setpieces though, as thats what it looks like they are good at that, judging from the highlights they had vs. Iraq.

It's to our benefit to get it done early and a win against Qatar on the first day will be a huge step forward. We know the Qatari's are trying to make a point. If they lose first to us, they'll try and steal points from everyone else. Time to start strong.
Edit: Just looked at Qatar's squad. No idea how they plan to set up against us. If you assume they play all their Spanish players, we would destroy them given how slow Tabata/Soria are now.

China called up a squad for a training camp until August 6th

              https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/China_...#Current_squad

Looks like they still have Zheng Zhi(their 35 yr old Nekounam) and Du Wei(34yr old Hosseini). Looks like they only called up two forwards so I assume they play with a central striker and 5 in the midfield. Hopefully they can tie South Korea in the first game and make our path easier.

1.72 m height? If Qatar actually plays him, Tabata, and the rest of their usual team we might actually have a height advantage over them for the first time in a decade.

Not WCQ but Iraq is holding Brazil 0-0 in minute 55 right now. Playing with pure heart, I don't like Iraq but I hate this cocky Brazilian team. Dameh Iraq garm... hope they win.
