The two most popular clubs in Iran that seat 100k in the derby surely won't be able to fit fans in their stadiums.
In all honesty, the derby aside, pretty much all Perspolis & Esteghlal home games this season have been hosted with max 10,000-15,000 fans in the stadium. With that in mind, I would much rather playing in 15,000 seater stadiums so that it feels full and more energetic than empty looking Azadi with its deteriorated and crappy facilities.

Bigger games can always be played at Azadi indeed. Plus stadium capacities can always be increased nonetheless.

again i dont know where you guys get this info
        Persepolis have had:
        40k v. SS Khuz
        30k v. Saba
        30k v. ZA

and we were doing sht at the beginning of the season which is why our attendance was terrible, i expect 30-40k next game aswell

Funny how the most popular club with highest attendance in the league is given the smaller capacity stadium.

These would be perfect for rah ahan and Naft....it's ridiculous to think that such a small stadium is suitable for Persepolis or Esteghlal

^ They want to TRY and hide our economy's downfall by switching stadiums. That's how "pedarsookhte" they are. They want to make sure Persepolis and Esteghlal stadiums are full of fans, so people stay blind to the fact that we have a real problem with our economy.

The reason why Azadi is empty every week for both red and blue, is because of the tickets are too expensive.

Esteghlal is planning to use its new stadium for its Youth Academy. The reason they picked the stadium with artifical grass is due to the fact that stadium has dormitory and I guess if you are using it for your youth team then 10K seating will be more than enough.

It's a miracle that they haven't stopped working given the bad financial situation of Foolad Khuzestan

Dameshoon garm. They have the roof frame in. It could be ready for next season if they have the remaining funding.

The budget for sport infrastructure has doubled, so we should be seeing more progress with the odd 4000 incomplete sport infrastructure projects in Iran!
